Will we be accused of Cradle snatching ?

Yep I can see the headlines now - "Cradle Snatching"

Saints loan star Cradle scored a late consolation as Saints slumped to a 5-1 home defeat to Brighton.

A player pard's has been after since day 1.

Pacey, Tricky, can play left/right and has a bit of bulk about him too iirc - he played a fair bit last year for City, and they were reluctant to let him go.

I would hazzard a guess that this is part of the deal to take one of our Poles to Leicester

Certainly been on the rumour mill, so your assessment could well be correct.

Remember him playing a positive role in Bournemouth's good run a couple of seasons ago.

A good player. Especially at this level. Would be suprised, seeing he was quite a regular for Leicester last season.

Saga/Rasiak to go the other way then? Probably Saga.

He played 30 times in l1 last season for the team that won the league. Why slag him off?

No idea, we know we need a winger, one is linked ( apparently) and even though he looks good it seems he's being criticised already. Reality check, Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid so it seems unlikely we'll be getting him.

As for whether it's on loan or not who gives a flying fig, I don't !

Exactly!

Do hush. Do you realise we are in league one? Do you know anything about the player? Do you know anything about football?

Did you expect us to sign Campbell instead?

Loan players are vital at this level.

What exactly is your problem with loan deals? Do you not realise how vital they are to clubs in our league?

he signed a 1 year extension in August 08 and is under contract until 2012. would be good , maybe he's not a loan but as suggested there's a deal going the other way for one of those immovable telegraph poles we have at St Mary's !!

Would be an excellent signing, exactly the sort of winger we need. Was brilliant for both Bournemouth & Leicester in L1. My old folk are infact Cherries' fans & have nothing but good words to say of Gradel from his time down there.

I was about to say i thought it would be an unlikely signing since he featured alot for Leicester last season however a quick look at his stats so far for this season suggest he's not played for them yet this season in the CCC so it could happen.

Chuffed if true, but as yet i question the reliability of said source.

We shall see.

As for the slagging off of the loan, get a life people FFS, many teams have done very well in both CCC and league 1 with many loan players, it is also an effective way to judge a players potential, plug gaps that COULD NOT otherwise be plugged with perm signings and also a chance for the player to get game time.

I would rather loan somebody with real potential who can do a very decent job for us, than buy another no-name who ends up as another drain on the squad and resources and probably spends all season in and out of the treatment table.

If it involves the Poles I would hazard a guess at Saga. I remember Mandaric being very keen on getting him to sign for Leicester after his loan spell with us.

What's wrong with saving our (ML's) money for later?

Loans are great, low-risk solutions in wall-to-wall problem situations.

If the loans do the trick, the cheque book will come out in January.

Sounds like a smart plan to me.
