Huffton Posted 22 August, 2009 Share Posted 22 August, 2009 I know we have a few Poole speedway fans on this board who may not be aware of this yet. Copied from the Poole OS: Speedway fans attending either Poole's home Elite League match against Peterborough or Bournemouth's National Development League fixture against Mildenhall will have the opportunity to send their messages of support to Poole teenager Brendan Johnson who has been on a life support machine in Southampton General Hospital after sustaining head injuries in a crash whilst riding for his present club Isle of Wight. A large card will be available for supporters to sign, or leave their own cards if they prefer. Poole fan Bob Cole will be co-ordinating the activity and will be situated near Alan Whale's 3rd Bend photo-stall on Wednesday or at the main East Stand entrance on Thursday. Overnight news has been encouraging on Brendan's condition with the hope that the Doctors may be able to slowly bring him out of the sedation that they have induced since his admittance. Well-wishers across the speedway fraternity are requested not to send any cards or gifts to the hospital, or contact the hospital for updates, and any unable to get to Wimborne Road can mail them to Brendan Johnson c/o Wave 105 Smallbrook Stadium, Ashey Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight PO33 4BH and the Isle of Wight club will ensure that all messages of support are passed on to Brendan's family. BEst wishes to the lad for a speedy and full recovery.
