It is the amount of cash he can earn from his last (probable) contract that interests him ;-)

I'd rather get a decent L1 centre back whose younger and hungrier and we don't have to pay 30K a week than to get Sol Cambell eating away. Besides all our players would want wage increases if Sol gives it the "I'm on 30K a week" in training ground banter. The miserableness around this forum is a joke, two defeats and what relegation? SNSUN Posted 22 August, 2009 Posted 22 August, 2009 So to summarise: 1: There have been numerous mentions of us signing Sol Campbell by posters, no less than in the HCDAJFU thread at the top of the main page. 2: Despite League Two Notts County's interest, he'd still command a hefty wage. What we're doing with our club is different to what they're doing with theirs. We're being sensible with signings for the future, they're signing for immediate promotion and column inches. 3: Sol Campbell WAS a good footballer, but his golden years are behind him. There are many better defenders, more agile and younger, out there. 4: Skate cast off. We've got a good couple of years worth of rumours out of Campbell since he signed for the Skates. We don't want those.

My guess is that it will be between 5 & 7 million a year for 24 first team players. You want to blow 1.6mil of that on one player.. hmmm Offer him two years at 4 grand a week so he doesn't have to move house and can do his coaching badges, otherwise enjoy your nights out in Nottingham

Sven is the only reason Kasper Schmeichel went there and the only reason Didi Hamann was linked. Just look at the other clubs Campbell's been linked with, Newcastle and Basel.

Suggested it a few days ago, hijack the Notts County deal which seems to hinge on Sol being offered a coching role by Sven.
