krissyboy31 Posted 21 August, 2009 Posted 21 August, 2009 Saints U18's are playing their first league game of the season tomorrow, away at Man Utd. Can't remember them ever being in our League before? Have the PL mixed up all of the youth leagues this year? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/AcademyNews/0,,10280~1763264,00.html

Matthew Le God Posted 21 August, 2009 Posted 21 August, 2009 Can't remember them ever being in our League before? Have the PL mixed up all of the youth leagues this year? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/AcademyNews/0,,10280~1763264,00.html Read the article and it explains. Well to an extent. Basically it is like the MLS, you play all the teams in your own league plus a few games against a few teams in one of the other academy leagues.

SFC Forever Posted 21 August, 2009 Posted 21 August, 2009 I wouldn't pay for that. Plus, even if it was free I will be on my way to Southampton to cheer us on to our first win and 3 glorious points.

Lazlo78 Posted 23 August, 2009 Posted 23 August, 2009 Brilliant! The kids deserve a bit of recognition for that. We really need some inspiring youngsters to come through the ranks in the coming years... All focus is currently on establishing the first team (and rightfully so) but once we get going, we need those youngsters to come in to an established side and add something extra. Imagine how a lot of our current youngsters could have developed if they had been introduced to the first team squad over a longer period and with less responsibility from the start (Lancashire for instance?)...

Yes, interesting to see Aaron Racine back playing. He was turning quite a few heads pre-season last year.
