SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 20 August, 2009 Share Posted 20 August, 2009 Wrong in so many ways. Apart from the space before the comma, 'there's' is a perfectly acceptable abbreviation of 'there is', and you've forgotten the apostrophe in 'it's'. I think I'll pass the 'peasant' baton back to you.Quick get out your spellcheckers! The knob police, are doing the rounds! Saddo's

No, that's my correct name, as shown on my birth certificate. I think "youe" are taking this a little too seriously, which places "youe" in grave danger of being a "T-wat". And here's a spare close-bracket - " - to make up for the one missing from your post. You're more than welcome.

CanadaSaint Posted 20 August, 2009 Share Posted 20 August, 2009 Has Lyn grounded you or is it too hot for golf? It actually is a little too hot for golf - 32 degrees. A definite swing & swig day. So I'm contenting myself making infantile contributions to a somewhat infantile grammar debate! I'd be better off golfing.
Smirking_Saint Posted 20 August, 2009 Share Posted 20 August, 2009 I really couldn't give a toss, like i said, if it wasn't just a forum perhaps i would put a bit of effort in. Actually this doesn't bother me too much it is when people try to undermine opinions and arguements by picking holes in spelling etc, so basically cannot hold together a coherant arguement. Anyways guys, Knock yourselves out

It is these days - because it's such a contributor to golf course viability in a country where golf is only a 5-6 month season. But I'm not complaining - a set of golf clubs and an adequate supply of beverages gets heavier as you grow older. I've actually been watching England working diligently to self-destruct in the Test Match. Some things don't change, eh?

My club only allows garaging for about 10 members owned carts, I've been on the waiting list for about 9 years. I'm next up when the next vacancy arrives, usually one a year. I'm going to walk as long as I can and occasionally use the cart, maybe to play 36 holes. I think the wicket may be breaking up, Warnie is saying 350 may be a good score now, but one never knows with Australia.

I may be wrong, but it was something to do with a player called Jaidi, but may be spelled differently. It would be nice to know the answer to an earlier poster's enquiry. "Is he still training with us?" We still need a big CB with experience IMO! I don't think spelling or poor grammar detracts from a point of view. Need to remember that grammar has not been taught in schools for decades and many teachers under 40 can't spell either, so the young ones don't have a chance. .............only my opinion! I don't want the Education Establishment after me.

I think the wicket may be breaking up, Warnie is saying 350 may be a good score now, but one never knows with Australia. It looks like it's crumbling badly so 300 for 4 would have been a great springboard for an innings sh*t-kicking of the Aussies. Now I'm not so sure, but at least we picked an established spinner. (BTW I can't talk like that with Canadians - they've embraced "soccer" but cricket is out of the question! ) I may be wrong, but it was something to do with a player called Jaidi, but may be spelled differently. Ken Tone Posted 21 August, 2009 Share Posted 21 August, 2009 For God's sake man it's not god sakes. Pedantry, practiced perfectly. Also, alliteration allowed. Well since you repeated it, I'll have to correct it this time. It is 'practised', not 'practiced'. The noun is 'practice'; the verb is 'practise'. Unless you are American of course. K.
