My son (4 years old) recently found a VHS cassette. He asked what it was for, I told him "You use it to watch movies on, you put it in a video player (showing him the old player in the garage"

"Oh" he says, still fumbling with the cassette and trying to open it "where do you put the disc then?"

Thinking of VHS cassettes, I wonder how long it will be before the word 'repair' falls into disuse? At least you could cut the scrunched bit of tape out and sellotape the ends together. If a DVD suddenly starts to skip or decides it can't be read it immediately changes use to a shaving mirror or a dangly thing to keep birds off your runner beans!

Not forgetting:-

Waiting for the lamplighter to come by and light the street lamps.

Watching the horses that pulled the milk and bread delivery wagons.

.

pretend nostalgia.....are we supposed to get all dewy eyed about spinning tops and lumps of coal in christmas stockings next? The logical conclusion to this was the terrible internet campaigns to bring back Wispa bars as though they would magically bring childhood back and show those terrible upstart kids (who had the blatant cheek to be born later then me) what a proper bar of worthless confectionary should taste like.

Nostalgia wasn't like this in my day etc etc........

i did no34 today

Mmm, i used to do that quite a lot, although i put it down to the fact that most of the stuff used in the industrial computer industry tends to be behind the times a little from commercial and home stuff ??

Then again, i did manage to destroy 7,000 pounds worth of prototype motherboard and video card.
