Contrary to reports there was an ex player scouting Swindon before we played them.

I spoke to somebody close to the player involved this evening.

 

now either he is a crap scout or pardew chose to ignore him......either way somebody fooked up big time.

It's a difficult one; Swindon I'm sure will have raised their game given that they had a crowd almost double their average attendance due mainly to a big away following. I could imagine if I'd scouted them on a couple of other games (particularly their 5-0 defeat at Gillingham) I'd have given Pardew duff info.

I don't think Pardew actually said he didn't have any reports on Swindon, I think he mentioned that he was 'still waiting' for reports to come through at the time the interview on Saints Player was conducted. Will have another listen to it now though.

There is a huge shake up in the scouting system taking place at the moment, the new scouting setup should be ready after Saturday.

 

I'd expect (From how AP is speaking) that alot of time and possibly even finances have been put into it.

Ok, I've just listened to the interview again and Pards said the following:

 

"Some of the information for Swindon I wanted hasn’t come through yet, and I find that unacceptable if I’m honest."

 

Take note of the word 'yet' in that sentence.

 

Nothing to suggest he didn't get the information he wanted in the end, just that he didn't receive it as quickly as he would have liked.

Perhaps we're beginning to see the full extent of the shell of a club Saints have become. And perhaps the sloppy scouting that AP aludes to is another indication of how dire the operational aspects have been allowed to get.

I suspect we have the funds to pick up 3 or 4 very solid players from around league 1 - even at say 1m each. Teams like Brentford, Huddersfield, Swindon etc all have some good quality players (CB, CM, Wingers etc) that were crying out for

 

Then we can say good bye to the likes of Wotton etc and sell Rasiak, Lallana etc

I think that too but it never seems to happen

 

We are now in the relegation zone in League 1 10 points from safety unbelievable really surely it cant get worse and you are right

They may have raised their game, can't comment as I did not see them play MK Dons, but they were still very poor, just made to look competent by our absolute crapness. If you give a team of schoolboys the complete run of the MF they would probably create some chances, thats what we did.

After the match Pardew did mention something about the team around him including scouts not working properly yet.
