There'll be extracts in the Echo and the Pink from tomorrow.

I've been lucky enough to get an early copy of the book. About a third of the way through - it's a very good read. MLT, while being diplomatic, doesn't hold back with what he thinks about people.

The foreword by Shearer is also surprisingly funny!

I thoroughly recommend getting a copy when it comes out.

Anyone else going down to St Marys tomorrow for the book signing? I see he's including fans comments in the back of the book, did anyone write anything?

Don't think I've ever been more excited about an autobiography being released, hope the weather stays nice over the next couple of days so I can sit out in the garden and read it, maybe try and finish it before the game on Saturday.

What time is it all happening?

Hope I can get down there, I am going on holiday tomorrow night so wouldn't mind having this book as my holiday read!

A shame that 'recent events' happened too late to include in the book - would have made himself a few more bob if there was an extra chapter covering the Pinnacle 'shenanigans'....

Maybe there will be an "updated version" released in a year or two.

The Pink last weekend said that it was up to date and included a chapter on the Pinnacle thing....or was that just lazy journalism ?

Ah, ok. No, rather me being lazy in assuming it was to late to include it.

Now I've got a dilema: whether or not to post the conspiracy theory that's just entered my head....

You can't write that and not post it! Go on...

Did he include a comment from his No. 1 fan, Javi?

For those of you unable to make the signing in the Megastore or live a bit further north in Hampshire or beyond Matt will be signing copies in Waterstones Festival Place Basingstoke from 4:30pm on Friday afternoon.

That's Junction 6 off the M3 and follow the signs for Town Centre for those of you knocking of early on Friday before heading south for the weekend. ;-)

Stroke of luck.....Family member in shop to buy a couple of books for signing......The line is MILES long apparently...In the shop ..good old Matt, his dad and Franny Benali...before going through with the cameras etc....Like a true gentleman signs our books ....Well done Matt...I now have my signed book.....Feel guilty I didn't get one for 19.

Was down there getting tickets, before 12 the line went back round behind the kingsland. The line was also a mongfest and had possibly some of the most gormless saints fans I have ever encountered.

Please don't concern yourself and anyway there is no room on my coffee table for what promies to be such a lightweight tome.

I'm going to wait for the Tarantino/David Lynch collaboration Hollywood blockbuster. Who will they cast I wonder?

Got mine from Amazon yesterday. A good read with some amusing anecdotes. He emphasises his love of fast food and his dislike of training when it involved running.

Get a copy - you'll enjoy it.

You really are a miserable barsteward:rolleyes: Did your parents lock you in the coal cellar at night and perhaps that's why you don't ever seem to have a good word to write about anything?

MLT, good luck with the book and I hope you sell loads and make loadsaaa money:)

It was worth waiting down at St Marys for two hours to get it signed today, 3 chapters in, looks like it will be a good read. I'm pleased as well to get my tribute to the great man in the section at the back of the book!

I’ve never got involved in mud slinging on here before, as I find it churlish, but 19C you are a complete nob.

You obviously have no respect for a person that was responsible for entertaining thousands of people, a person that many on here hold in the highest regard, (despite what may, or may not have happened in recent months,) and a person that almost single handedly kept this once great club of ours in the premiership on several occasions.

You call yourself a Saints fan?

I for one am looking forward to reading his book, as it is about something I am interested in, after I have read it, I will be better placed to judge if it is lightweight, or an interesting read, unlike yourself who is obviously so bitter & twisted that you have pre-judged the words & opinions of one of the greatest servants this club has had.

Are you even a Saints fan? What makes you think that it 'promies' to be such a 'lightweight tome?' I reckon you should read it before passing judgment.

sorry I know its off topic but did anyone see Le Tiss on Sky Sports soccer special yesterday afternoon? He predicted that Burnley would beat Man Utd and everyone laughed at him!!!

yeah i saw that!!

Perhaps Mr Canteen was simply pointing out in a lighthearted, slightly provocative, way that most, if not all, footballer biographies aren't exactly literary masterpieces.

That said, given the state of today's dumbed down education system it may well be on next years O-Level (sic) English Lit syllabus book list.....

That's a rather generalized comment. I happen to be an English teacher!
