I hope Hammond has signed the damn contract and wasn't there tonite...

I said something similar earlier, but in reality this is probably a dream move for him from his point of view. We're no doubt doubling his wages, he's lived down south before and we are a bloody big club in this league.

He doesn't know the truth that tonight wasn't just a blip, so I'm sure he'll still sign. :)

Hopefully he was there to see how much we need a player like him, taking some pressure off the back four and putting a few of those balls into much needed wide players and front two who need it and want it rather than our wobbly CB's!

I'm nervous that he may opt to join his old manager at Norwich!

From the U´s OS "We will also be looking to get a clause where no Colchester players will head to Norwich before the end of this season as part of the package."

Thansk for that MB - was that in todays Echo then ?

They hint that he could go straight into the line up where he is expected to make his debut.

Announcement of his signing this morning.

Pardew hopeful of a new defender by Saturday, so knowing us that'll be next week.

Good but after watching that last night there is something fundamentally wrong that a new defender and midfielder just will not solve.

But get them in the starting line up and surely we have too improve.

Did he say if it's likely for Saturday? Thanks a lot mate. I wasn't there last night but from listening the fans have every right to be angry and I doubt the new owner will put up with bad results for very long. Lets hope we have a decent big centre back in by sat and Hammond then if murty is fit we should have 6 new signings in then it's more Parderws team. We need to sort rasiak and saga issue by then too

still find it hard to believe after hearts/millwall we are this bad.

Perhaps thats due to us playing at home those games and our players prefer to save the best for St. Marys?

Was he even getting a game a Colchester?

We shoulda snapped up Jonathan Douglas, ideal for this league and ran the show last night

He was their captain so I think he played week in and week out

Yeah - we have heard that defender nonsens to many times already to belive him sadly

Strange that there is not even ONE CB available in the world, that is better than Wotton .......

Thank the lord hes signed!

Nope. It has been announced he signed. He had signed by last night. As if he would pull out cos we didn't play very well - that is the reason we bought him - he wasn't expecting to walk into a Premiership winning team ffs.

Why would we want to sign a centre back to replace Wotton in midfield?

Nope - journey from Liverpool is a bit much.

If you are asking because you are referring to the performance then come on - no player pulls out of final negotiations of a deal which amounts to more financially than other deals or is with a club with a great new setup because the team played ****. He was under no illusions with Saints on -10 that he was walking into a winning side - he was signed purely because the team isn't right yet.

If you are asking because you want to know how I know he had signed by last night - because announcements are planned and don't happen the moment a player signs, because the deal according to many sources was completed and signed yesterday and because the early announcement on the OS was to pre-empt the Colchester press conference - just need to look at things logically.

Very good signing - to go with the Lambert one. Kelvin is easily the best keeper in this league also. So that's just 8 more new faces required Mr Pardew...

I ask as i still cannot believe our performance last night, and i think if you were there you'd have know what i meant. We looked like a pub team!

I understand the logistics in signing and the process. I was very happy it was wrapped up. But if it wasnt, Watching that last night regardless of a few more thousand a week WOULD have put doubts in your mind. Especially if your an indemand player.

I'm thankful its signed sealed and delivered and i will be behind him and the team saturday!

Crowds.

We have some decent players now.

Davis, Murty, Harding, Hammond Lambert and (possibly) Rasiak and Mills.

It's clear that CB is still is a big problem and so is most of our midfield. Hopefully Mills can come back in at left midfield to sort that out a bit. I would like us to sign a right midfielder as well. In an ideal world this is what I would like:

Davis

Murty new signing new signing Harding

new signing Gillet Hammond Mills

Lambert Rasiak
