OK -9 but 10 points behind.

Who, honestly, really honestly, thought that we'd still be 10 points behind after 3 games?

I didn't, and no one I went to the game with did either. So that's 4...

Ahhh - Wasnt there a thread earlier on how long we all thought it would take to get rid of the -10.

Perhaps the feel good factor has made us think we are unbeatable ??? Not sure but we all know now there is a good longs seasons work to do yet !

I really hope that my prediction is so wrong

All jokes aside - The OP has a point - This has been a worse start than anyone expected

I totally agree and it is going to take a long time to get out of the relegation positions if we ever do.

What's important here is that we now make progress fecking quickly, because we know we have players with ZERO confidence, and the longer this goes on, the worse those players will get and the only option will be to buy 22 new ones.

Agree. My view is that the -10 will soon become a monkey of gorilla-sized proportions on our back if we don't start shifting it. The longer it's hanging around the more pressure the team are going to have...every week will be a must-win game. Pardew needs to look at the squad and pick 11 players who he thinks can handle that pressure. Nevermind if they're the best in terms of ability, just get 11 out there who believe they can win matches and can put their bloody foot in where it matters.

I did. I have said all along this team is not good enough for League 1 and is heading for League 2... but AP and Marcus are making it gradually better to be fair.

We'll survive - but we need 5-6 more players and the removal of Lowe's legacy players who clearly lack skill, experience and a winning mentality..... just like their old master.

I must admit whilst I am not panicking yet, I am beginning to feel less comfortable with what has happened on the pitch thus far.

I still think AP is the right man for the job and I do think he will get us moving in the right direction eventually, the worry for me is whether he will be able to get the necessary number of players in before the transfer window shuts. If he doesn't, then it is going to be a fairly uncomfortable and long haul until January.

I think Sky's prediction of finishing 15th is about right, i'll give it until mid September to get into + points. I just hope we don't start buying too many players, which can cause problems....IMO next season is the important one.

THIS season is the important one!!! There seems to be an attitude amongst some Saints fans that we would get rid of the negative points within 4 games and they waltz up the league, finish about halfway up and perhaps flirt with the playoffs.

WRONG.. forget about how far we are behind the leaders, or behind the playoffs, we are going to be in a relegation battle this season.

There will be no point planning for promotion from League One next season, if we end up in League Two.

This league is no cakewalk.

Having watched last night's game I am beginning to think that it's my fault that we're in this position. Having watched Saints as many times (around 20) as I've been able I can now state that the last time I saw us win was at the Carling Cup game at Exeter last August.

Is this a record?

When will it end?
