ruddick Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 Apparently he has picked up a dead leg so say http://www.twitter.com/solentsport
RonManager Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 He really shouldn't pick up dead things, you never know what you might catch.
St.Patrik Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 ****e - the AP really needs to act fast to get some new blood in then.
Crowds Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 Knowing the type of player he is, I'm sure he'll try his hardest and poss through some pain to play. Shame a few others weren't so commited!
S-Clarke Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 Stick James back at RB, no problems. The issue now though is - who the heck plays in RM? Im not sure Thompson is quite ready to start games, he sitll looks very raw
Torres Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 (edited) Stick James back at RB, no problems. The issue now though is - who the heck plays in RM? It sure as hell shouldn't be James anyway. I'm puzzled by the idea that anyone thinks he can play there (RM) effectively. Edited 17 August, 2009 by Torres To make myself a little clearer!

Colinjb Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 Stick James back at RB, no problems. The issue now though is - who the heck plays in RM? Im not sure Thompson is quite ready to start games, he sitll looks very raw Oscar Gobern?
Hopkins Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 He's our best crosser of the ball. (James). I don't think he's done too badly there. He's better at right back imo because he's given the time and space to get a cross in that he doesn't get at RM but he's not done too bad imo. Thomson or Mellis will play RM.
stevegrant Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 It sure as hell shouldn't be James anyway. I'm puzzled by the idea that anyone thinks he can play there effectively. He did OK there towards the end of last season. Considering the only other likely option is Paul Wotton, I'd much rather James slotted in there if Murty isn't available.

londonsaint1604 Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 James at RB and move Lallana to the right and bring in Holmes.
Saint_clark Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 James at RB will be fine. Seeing as how good on the ball that Mellis looked when he came on, i'd give him a start.
SaintRichmond Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 Apparently he has picked up a dead leg so say http://www.twitter.com/solentsport I can't see the problem .......... Wotton has been playing with TWO of them for ages ............
Torres Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 He's our best crosser of the ball. (James). I don't think he's done too badly there. He's better at right back imo because he's given the time and space to get a cross in that he doesn't get at RM but he's not done too bad imo. He was set free in an acre of space in ther first half on Saturday and managed to lob his woeful cross right into the keepers arms. Was probably the only thing he did of note...
SamKimish Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 James at RB and move Lallana to the right and bring in Holmes. Would rather see Joseph Mills at Left Mid if fit, Thomson Right Mid, Melis Centre Mid and Lallana playing just behind the two forwards.
J Bizzle Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 A dead leg is nothing. Just give him an injection.
Bailey Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 James at RB and move Lallana to the right and bring in Holmes. This.
Bad Wolf Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 -------------Davis--------------- James------Perry----Thomas------Harding Lallana-----Schiederlan----Gobern------Holmes ------------Lambert-------Patison----------- IMO
Saint Fen Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 Would rather see Joseph Mills at Left Mid if fit, Thomson Right Mid, Melis Centre Mid and Lallana playing just behind the two forwards. This would be as unbalance a midfield we could field, not one of them is a ball winner. Mine would be: Melis - - Schniederlin - - Gillett -- Holmes / Mills I'd probably put Lallana in a free role behind Lambert.
ART Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 This news qabout Murty kind of looks like we now know why the team played so f u c k ing awful on Saturday. It was too obvious that something or someone wasn't right. Otherwise how do you explain why they suddenly performed so terrible and Pardew's face looked like Jan in his final days. This is the Burley scenario all over again.
Chez Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 He was set free in an acre of space in ther first half on Saturday and managed to lob his woeful cross right into the keepers arms. Was probably the only thing he did of note... **** poor crossing from a player ill at ease at right midfield. At best he's a holding midfield player. Never a right midfielder in a million years.
Chez Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 -------------Davis--------------- James------Perry----Thomas------Harding Lallana-----Schiederlan----Gobern------Holmes ------------Lambert-------Patison----------- IMO I like your assessment of Gobern. He looked right at home at CM when he played there against Manure. I don't see him as a wide midfielder.
saintrich Posted 17 August, 2009 Posted 17 August, 2009 Mills is injured and sounds like Holmes is offski.
The9 Posted 18 August, 2009 Posted 18 August, 2009 He was set free in an acre of space in ther first half on Saturday and managed to lob his woeful cross right into the keepers arms. Was probably the only thing he did of note... Crosses, surely ? He did it at least twice. Then again he set up Lambert's first against Northampton in the same situation...
