Exodus Geohaghon

Living in Kettering myself I go to quite a few games and have seen Exodus myself on numerous occasions.

Trust me on this one folks, he really is nothing special. His long throws are obviously a big asset, but apart from that I'm finding it extremely hard to see why we are so interested in him. I think its also common belief in Kettering that the other CB (and captain) by the name of Dempster is a more competent and calmer CB on the ball.

People on here are howling for anybody with some height and I think its getting a bit desperate now.

Totally agree and as another Saint in exile in Kettering.. I cannot see why we would want him.. really nothing special and will not raise standards at SMS. AVOID!

Well, if his throw ins are as described, he'll be a potent weapon in our arsenal much in the way Rory Delap was......and with the same amount of ability

You are being sarcastic right?

Sorry but sarcasm often gets lost over the net.

Delap and his long throws were, in my opinion, totally ineffectual for US.

I don't think this one will happen, at least I hope not. Just because Exodus is massive and he has a long throw, doesn't mean he can cut it in League One. I'm convinced we can do a lot better, and fingers crossed we'll bring in someone of proven quality at this level.

I doubt it this geezer will be coming as he started for kettering last night and according to my lad who is a ST holder at kidderminster lacked pace very unsure at times but headed the ball well.My lad thinks it's too bigger step up for him into L1.

To be fair, last night's game could have easily have been a Blue Square game, although that may be slightly insulting to the football played at Blue Square level.

so was I. no he wasn't.

You mind reading bxstard! I was just typing virtually the same thing. Now I'm just going to have to type it anyway thus adding nothing to this thread.

See? You've wasted one of my 3 valuable posts - I hope you're happy now?

Exodus Geohaghon has joined Peterborough in the Championship today (presumably because ex-Kettering manager Mark Cooper has just taken over there). Be interesting to see how he gets on and whether we've missed out.

Well, good luck to the Posh fans trying to get a chant made for him. They have a couple of potential tunes for themselves, but God knows what words would scan to either the Bob Marley song or the Film title tune.

Terry Paine was in the Southampton Schools team when we were a Div 2 side before we went down

No, I am pretty sure Terry Paine came from Winchester City as a teenager (approx 18) around 1957/8 when we were still Division Three. I saw him play in my first game at the Dell 1959, a Div 3 evening game against Norwich. It was Terry that laid on most of the chances that Derek Reeves and George O'Brien would snap up and led to Derek scoring 39 goals in one season

He had a game or two for Mid Hant's schools but didn't shine. Played for Corinthians, then Winchester City made his Saints debut a few days before his 18th birthday on 16th March 1957 v Brentford.
