I'd like to see us line up as follows:

Most teams in this league will lose to Huddersfield away this season and Mill

wall was always going to be tough. We'll win at Swindon (at worst a draw) and will get better as new signings and better coaching takes effect. COYR

Heard Pard's on South today tonight....looked very downbeat

This is a bit alarming. AP said last week that he needed 4-5 new players and was confident of getting them. Now its 1-2 and he says this. Wonder if its the -9 points that makes players hesitate to join Saints or not ?

It really did sound like he's struggling to attract players.

 

I remember the same interview where he said about 4 players? just after Lambert signed iirc.

 

He wanted to get them in quickly as there's no time like the present....

 

We've either been out priced...or our excellent start to the season has set some alarm bells ringing for potential signings. - I'd still say it's too early to judge us though tbf!

I went there in about 1986, where Saints took a three[3] goal lead, in a two legged cup tie. Shilton was in goal and due to his heroics, the woodwork, and awful finishing by Swindon on the night we stole a 0-0 draw. I believe they missed a penalty as well, and on

the night 6-0 would not have flattered Swindon. Hopefully we will be a lot better tomorrow,

and get our first league win.

Until the last few days of the window, when some clubs will accept anything just to offload players from the wagebill.

Just listened to that. was a great interview, i really like what he has to say - he's spot on with our failings and how a couple of our players respond to situations.

 

He was pretty adamant in saying only 2 more signings - and that's it though, he did say there would be no more after he's brought in the 2 he wants. He said we already have too big a squad and he doesn't want to increase it.

 

...unfortunately it's a squad full of utter trash, such as Pulis.

If this were Football Manager, aside from spending money on new players as if there were no tomorrow, i'd be playing 4-3-3, which, with no width in the side, i'd be interested to see try. My team would be:

No New sigings today IMO means a draw is the best we can hope for at Swindon.

 

Whats the problem getting the players in? Is Alan aiming to high for players that are un prepared to drop down to this level to a club on -9 points?

Or do they just want to join Notts County?

Players are holding out for better deals, the window has another 2 weeks to run, there will be lots of activity on the last day.

 

Then there will be loans.

 

Don't panic. We are still good enough to take Swindon (I hope). They lost Cox and nearly went down last season, while we have a team as good at least as last season (when we were in a higher division). We may lack strength in depth, but 1st XI is still strong, we lost to Huddersfield who will be near the top at the end of the season.

We will find out alot more about our side tomorrow night as the majority of the side have something to really prove after Huddersfield to prove it was a 1 off and they are good enough to challenge in Div 1.Players like Thomas,Perry,Lallana,Morgan and James.I don't include Wotton as hopefully he will be dropped as we all know he is not good enough.

 

I also heard AP on the radio.Will be disappointed if we only sign 2 more players as we clearly need 4 or 5 to have a really decent team especially if Rasiak and Saga leave.We would then need 2 strikers,a centre back and midfield maestro as a very minimum and ideally a pacy winger and another centre back.

 

I fear we are struggling to get the players we want.Lets hope we get a couple of really good players by Saturday because the good feel factor is fast evaporating in the short term.Long term we will be ok but every defeat must make it more difficult to get the right players in.

 

I'm disappointed we're not trying to make the play offs this season as I feel with 4/5 signings we all talk about and we could challenge this season.How many other clubs like Notts County will we be up against next season who get taken over and have money they are willing to spend unlike us at present?

 

Why cant we be ruthless and cancel Molyneux,Pulis and Wotton's contracts and pay them up to get them off our staff and reduce our squad!?Then get in players who are capable of playing in the 1st team.Also send Lancashire out on loan.

 

 

Hopefully tomorrow we will either win(preferred) or get hammered for the owners to decide more drastic immediate action with this

Good teams never ever lose, not even once. That's why every team to be promoted from each league is always undefeated.

 

Schneiderlin, Mills, Gillet, sorry you've had enough minutes of league 1 now, we've reached a critical point and you should be released for free so we can bring in new players, because new players have all been great in recent years. Where would we be without countless new players. I love new players.

 

Let's get 11 of them. Every week.

COME ON YOU SAINTS should work. I have never liked come on you reds as that is so far removed from our team colours and more suited to the likes of liverpool.

Must win 3 points; 3000 plus away fans; local derby of sorts; winnable game; put a few more on the gate for Brentford; 2 home games coming up; get rid of gloom and doom; about time a few stood up and were counted; Lose this and we truly are bad and will stay in bottom 3 for a long time......dont care about give it time, patience blah blah weve had enough of that for ages now,get in get on with it, prove you care,pleaseeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

In case you hadn't noticed, there are plenty of midweek games in the third division. What the ****'s the point of putting out eleven new players to lose to Swindon on a Tuesday, if you're then going to pick any of them to lose again to Brentford on a Saturday?

 

Way too conservative IMO. Get a grip.

Think this game is still too early for us in our rebuilding, but expect a much better performance than on Saturday. Have it down as 2-1 to Swindon.

 

But then I'm aiming for the wooden spoon this season...
