Greece/Kefalonia

I have specific experience. We went to Kefalonia the 2nd week of October 2 years ago for a week.

First couple of days were 25-30 degrees and I got sunburnt, the following days were a little overcast, and thank god they were, because it forced us to hire a car and explore what is an utterly utterly amazing and beautiful island. Also, because it was that time of year, hiring the car was **** cheap (about £25 a day). When the sun came out we simply parked the car up at the nearest of the many amazing beaches and swam.

Youll have a wicked time. do it.

As said Kephalonia is a beautiful isle. We've stayed in Scala a few times and are thinking of going back next year to see friends and visit places.

The weather should be fine at that time of year. Try the site 'justkephalonia', it has some good info and forum's.

I was in Kephalonia in August about 12 years ago and it was a) fantastic but b) brutally hot. The local shops were renting out fans so that over-heated tourists without aircon could sleep at night. There weren't enough to go round, so if you saw someone walking down the main street of scala with a fan to return to the shop you had to run after them and try to rent it straight out before someone else got it. Oh happy days. Don't know what it's like in October mind; probably just peachy.
