Let me guess, you've either got somebodys stray pigeon from that area or it's a long training toss?

The first bit, under the instructions of the owner i kept it for 10 days to get it back to good shape, let it go when the winds were SW and the bloody thing is back after 5 days! The owner lives in Worksop which is kind of on the way to Hudderfield.

Oh what a great thread, bound to make the Golden thread forum if ever i have seen one! ;)

I hope so, fame at last:D

My Grandfather was a very succesful pigeon fancier in his day, and was from South Emshal (not far from t'udderfield). Mum has a box full of his certificates and rossettes from his prized birds. Us Southerners may joke, but pigeons, ferrets and whippets are still very popular pastimes in those parts.

Incidentally, any 'Last of The Summer Wine' fans could use this weekend as an opportunity to visit the village where much of the series was filmed in Holmfirth.

Would anybody be able to take a racing pigeon (provided i can catch him!) in a box to Hudderfield tomorrow? All you would need to do is release him near Worksop (top of Nottinghamshire) i'll and catch him and bring him to you tonight. PM me please.

Does look like him! I think pigeons are below his social shooting level though, ducks, swans and football clubs are all Lowe can bring himself to kill.

do you reckon he will step in and save that slag heap down the road?, now that would have us raising the odd glass or too!

LOL... they deserve nothing less, but I fear they even the Skates would not be as stupid as the Askham's of the world.

A sickening picture

I totaly agree, he should've shot more. My record is 680 in 5 hours.

Pigeons are vermin and are born to be shot.
