LostBoys Posted 15 August, 2009 Share Posted 15 August, 2009 New ground? In their dreams. Can park in the cricket ground next to the football ground. There are also car parks not far away and some street parking Thanks I did say I had never been there. I had some notion they had sold the ground and moved to a new one - I must have got them mixed up with Pompey

itchen Posted 15 August, 2009 Share Posted 15 August, 2009 Now, I understand that you are all far too polite to make comment on a serious Swindon matter, so I will have to do it for you - I am not afraid to confront such thorny issues head - on. It concerns the blinding error in the design of the Swindon Town crest which I am sure you have also noticed. The silhouetted steam locomotive is, as we all know, a Great Western Railway 2-6-2 Prairie Tank. Being a Tank engine, it would carry it's water supply either side of the boiler, NOT in a tender which is depicted behind the loco. If you are all as outraged at this mistake as I, then I ask you all to boycott the match. I have spoken to Alan Pardew, and he has agreed to refuse to play the fixture until the crest is corrected. I'm sorry, but enough is enough! Is it possible we have a picture of a train somewhere about the club we could take to show them?
Faz Posted 15 August, 2009 Share Posted 15 August, 2009 Its good that the important matters of life get debated on this forum. I agreebut with your comments (despite knowing nothing about trains) think we should still play the game - despite them making such a crass mistake. Could you summarise your views on their crest into a pithy, witty song that we could all sing at the Swindon fans?? Thanks "You're sh1t, and your crest is wrong" I doubt they'll ever recover from that.

kpturner Posted 17 August, 2009 Share Posted 17 August, 2009 Just tried to buy a couple and completely sold out. They are after yet another 500 and will be phoning me back when it has been done - fat chance of that but you never know. The extra 500 has now arrived and the ticket office did actually ring me up to allow me to purchase - I am pleasantly surprised
krissyboy31 Posted 17 August, 2009 Share Posted 17 August, 2009 They said they've rang the 250 on the waiting list and a further 250 will go on sale immediately. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1757748,00.html

hugh Posted 17 August, 2009 Share Posted 17 August, 2009 On the Twitter feed they are saying they have asked Swindon for another 250 which will be sent by courier down to Southampton this afternoon. sandwichsaint Posted 17 August, 2009 Share Posted 17 August, 2009 Ticket office phoned me too, excellent service! If you can't collect your ticket before tomorrow then they will send it enveloped up to Swindon and be available for collection at the Swindon ticket office (I was told they'd be there an hour before the game but that's optimistic, at Norwich last season it was 5 mins before the kick off, but hopefully 45 mins before this time). First game of the season and looking forward to it.

RedAndWhite91 Posted 17 August, 2009 Share Posted 17 August, 2009 What an absolute palava, went down Friday morning and a man told me to come back Monday at 9'oclock. So was down St. Mary's this morning at 9 and they told me the courier would get here with the tickets at 11. So I rang them at 11 and they said he was getting there at 12. Got down the stadium at about 12:30 and they had all gone and they requested another 250 for which I had to wait til 3 o'clock. Luckily 3 tickets came up as a cancellation and I nabbed them, after which news came through the courier was stuck in traffic and would get there at 3:30. At this point the queue was growing and growing. Never leaving it late again.

West End Saint Posted 17 August, 2009 Share Posted 17 August, 2009 A fatastic turn out for a mid week away game even though it is fairly local there is nothing like a well attend away game Reading and Forest away last season were brilliant for atmosphere a repeat of the Reading result would be more than welcome I cant imagine Swindon have had nearly 3000 for a mid week away support for a very long time get behind the boys and sing em to victory COYR
