Torres Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 ...a Liebherr concrete mixer parked outside my office. It made me smile. Has anyone else a similar experience to relay? Colinjb Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 I was out in Malta on Holiday when the takeover was confirmed. Feeling utter delighted and on a high I then decided to hire a car and take a trip to the south of the Island to a restaurant I know. On the way through Seggiewi I saw I massive tower crane with Leibherr on the side. Hence the bemused locals wondering who that kn*b in a Kia Picanto was firing off his horn and whooping at the top of his voice!
chrisobee Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 Obviously planning a concrete statue of someone..........or concrete boots for anyone who does not want to play for us!
steve f 48 Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 On the day of the takeover, I was driving home on the motorway and the first thing I saw was a motorhome with a Swiss flag in the back window.

There's a lovely BIG crane in the centre of Basel here, a wonderous sight to behold. Was out and about in the Black Forest and Alsace and had many examples to add to my photo collection. Might give up collecting beer labels and convert to pictures of cranes. ;0) Mancsaint

Andy Durman Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 I drove to Vienna three weeks ago and cheered everytime I went past a Liebherr crane. Then when I got to site (I'm building a family house) the contractor had a Liebherr 360 excavator. I then went to the shops and bought my son a toy Liebherr digger and transporter. THANK GOD FOR LIEBHERR!!!!!!!!!
oxfordshire_saint Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 I've just got back from a week spent driving predominantly around the Black Forest, Austria and Switzerland and I saw the Liebherr brand everywhere, from cranes to diggers to depots. I even filled up at an Agip petrol station on the Hans Liebherr Straße just outside Lindenberg im Allgäu, it was opposite a massive Liebherr depot. Is this the late Hans Liebherr's home town by any chance?

Kingsland Codger Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 And to get an idea of just how huge a Liebherr crane can be ... http://www.todaysbigthing.com/2009/08/06 And the (unrelated) clip of the previous day, of a daredevil sliding down a water shute, is, quite simply, incredible. hamster Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 Interesting and debatable decision to move this to The Lounge TBH !! Absolutely agree, how many 'FlyBe' threads have there been over the years? Without the Liebherr family business, we may not have a forum to talk about this crap, let alone a football club to support. Mouldy Coat Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 I saw a Leibherr crane at the Serbia/Croatia border coming back from the Exit festival in Novi Sad just after ML took over. I had a small ejaculation release in my Calvins.
John Boy Saint Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 Driving past a aggregate depot in Narbonne southern France there was an array of Leibherr equipment in use and on display, so I nudged the wife giggled and tugged my forelock in their direction. Nice to see that I am not alone in this childish behaviour.
