Charlton??? Giants???!!!!!

Can't argue with most of those but as we slip down the list of fallen giants does that mean are no longer giants or that we haven't fallen as far as others?

Of those I would say that Leeds and Forest are the main ones, Newcastle consider themselves to be huge, they are just an established Prem team that has wobbled big time and could well be in mid-crisis, not sure they have found rock bottom yet.

Though Norwich and Ipswich had some days in the sunshine I wouldn't regard them as powerhouses of the british game with rivalry to match Glasgow/Merseyside/Manchester derbies.

Then again I would imagine we are off the map a little at the moment as well, but the difference is that we will be back,

the red and white giant is stirring.....

It's all relative really. In terms of some current Prem clubs (the Wigan's, Bolton's, Fulham's etc.) and many Championship sides, we (and Norwich) are giants. In terms of one side in our current league (I.E. Leeds United), we are a relative minnow!!

Im trying to figure out what they are basing all this on...surely if its old titles etc then PNE should be in there.

What about the likes of Huddersfield who won the 1st Division 3 times in a row.

How about top of the league with twice european player of the year Kevin Keegan on board.

Really, surely it should be for a sustained period? Wolves, Leeds, & Sheff. Wed. May have a claim but everyone else is clutching at straws.

Anyone care to remind me when were giants in the first place?

27 years top flight, founder members of the Premier league, gotta count for something somewhere?

In that case I give you... Coventry City, giants of English football! Actual, literal giants, like the BFG, not just like someone who keeps hitting their head on roof beams in old pubs. Giants!
