stevegrant Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 As per the thread title, who was the last Saints signing to score on their debut? Not including loans, by the way...
beatlesaint Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Bradley Wright Phillips against Eastleigh ?
Saint_clark Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Or, if friendlies don't count, BWP V Derby.
stevegrant Posted 11 August, 2009 Author Posted 11 August, 2009 Not a bad shout... any advances on Phillips?
stevegrant Posted 11 August, 2009 Author Posted 11 August, 2009 Or, if friendlies don't count, BWP V Derby. Think you might have it there... =D>
Saint_clark Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Think McLaggon might have scored on his debut actually. EDIT: nope, but he set one up.
stevegrant Posted 11 August, 2009 Author Posted 11 August, 2009 Think McLaggon might have scored on his debut actually. EDIT: nope, but he set one up. No, debut against Plymouth on Boxing Day, 2-0 defeat.
S-Clarke Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Robertson last season?? that's the one...home v Norwich possibly?
Saint_clark Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Robertson last season?? Not including loans

scott_saints Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 that's the one...home v Norwich possibly? Can't remember who it was against. Good goal though. Was s**t after that
Fan The Flames Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Kevin Phillips against Leicester? He looked class when he came on in that game, shame he walked.
Micky Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Alan Shearer - hatrick against Arsenal in first full appearance...!
Torres Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Kevin Phillips against Leicester? Seems a long time ago now
Minsk Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Can't remember who it was against. Good goal though. Was s**t after that It certainly was! I was in the Northam for that one on one of my rare jaunts over. other debut goals I can remember seeing are Shearer's hat-trick against the Arse and Colin Clarke's hat-trick (against QPR? I think).
Micky Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 How about a blast from the past, but brilliant, brilliant game. Craig Maskell against Liverpool Tue 15 Feb 94 - if you were there you will remember it, for those that weren't, The Independant sums it all up very nicely. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football-le-tissier-sets-up-the-rout-of-poor-liverpool-1394350.html A certain MLT got a hat trick that night as well, but was still snubbed by England - fools...!
LukeH Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 I was gonna say maskell. It was the first time I'd read about saints in the Sydney newspapers for us beating liverpool 4-2 and it was the game to send me on my saintly way.
Arizona Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Last permanent player would be BWP I guess. Robertson on loan against Norwich last season. Phillips at Leicester Griffit against Blackburn Pahars against Blackburn about a decade ago. Am I right in thinking Paterson scored on his first START for the first team at the weekend?
team-saint Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 Am I right in thinking Paterson scored on his first START for the first team at the weekend? I think he started against Reading and Man Utd last season
Micky Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 I think he started against Reading and Man Utd last season But failed to finish, unfortunately...!
Arizona Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 I think he started against Reading and Man Utd last season Ah ok. Pahars actually played against Coventry too, so that doesn't count. Anyway, I've got a better one. Saganowski. If we're not including loans, he technically scored on his "debut" against Palace.

Excellent recall. Memories are made of this
