Sanguin Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 If our next signing doesn't have a double-barrelled name, I'm shaving off my pubes. Double barrelled names are the way to go from now on IMO. Never should have let Dutton-Black go. A fine double barrelled name there. Have you seen the new acadamy guy Holder-Spooner I think we can have a lot of fun with that one. On the matter in hand I don't really care about new signings, I just hope Markus Liebherr doesn't invest any of his own money, I'd rather see him bankrupt the club whilst paying himself nearly a quarter of a million a year then put us into administration and disappear.
The9 Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 Just what does this say about our owners? A total lack of ambition. I've specifically taken this week off because i was promised signings and so far....we've had one. That's not good enough. Not even any good rumours either just people saying who they think would be good. I'm prepared to rave about players I've never seen as long as we've bought them (and hopefully trebled their wages) but so far since way back yesterday there's not been a sniff of a signing. SKY Sports has just reported that there's less than 22 days till the end of the transfer window - that's not enough time to get the 300 players I feel we need to really make an impression in this league. We're at least 23 hours overdue of hearing OBS whining about it, anyway.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 We're at least 23 hours overdue of hearing OBS whining about it, anyway. I am at ease right now - great result last night and following the signing of Lambert I am more upbeat than 2 weeks back! Sounds like there are a few more signings being negotiated or finalised so in summary a good week. OBS is happy Still think we need 5 or 6 players (if we lose Rasiak and Saga) but as long as the any new boys are of similar calibre to Lambert I will be delighted.
Ashby Saint Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 Have you seen the new acadamy guy Holder-Spooner I think we can have a lot of fun with that one. On the matter in hand I don't really care about new signings, I just hope Markus Liebherr doesn't invest any of his own money, I'd rather see him bankrupt the club whilst paying himself nearly a quarter of a million a year then put us into administration and disappear. Eh?
SNSUN Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 Southampton football club is a joke. Talk about sexism. Not ONE female player, coach or chairman. Let's get some tittage into the club and prevent this moral sexist chauvenist piggery. Secondly, ticket prices. Far too low. If we want the club to do really well, we need to charge triple the current ticket prices in to generate income for the hard working board members. I'm sure the fans would happily pay thrice as much if it meant we could keep Lancashire on the books. Thirdly, is it so hard for Mr Liebherr to pay for flights to bring back the various Saints fans from around the world? They deserve to be here as much as him. Fourthly, St Mary's is poo. Ground sharing with Portsmouth (a very fine football club) is the way to go surely. Fifthly, I'm glad to have Lambert on board. To make room in my wardrobe for his shirt (which was dirt cheap - should be thrice as much), I had to burn my Matt Le Tissier shirt. Just as well, it was far too big for me. :-D
beatlesaint Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 Eh? Think previous rosey cheeked chairman - he is doing irony
Saint Fan CaM Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 This I'd imagine? Well a check of the date of posting might help explain and anyway, I don't consider that post to be particularly negative as such - just a discussion and a chance to compare. Unfortunately, there are some knuckle draggers who like to pick a fight rather have a sensible debate.
thorpie the sinner Posted 12 August, 2009 Posted 12 August, 2009 If AP came out and said Rasa was staying, I would almost take that as a cracking new signing!!
