Prank calls - What to do.

I've been pranked recently by someone associated with the football team I coach. Fortunately there where careless enough to leave the number unblocked on one occasion.

Now, this is harrasement, and I am p*ssed off with it. In short, I want to throw the book at them. Where do I stand legally?

Are they a player?

Could be. Can't rule anything out. They are at u15 level. I have called back and left a message saying, call back, identify yourself, apologise and the metter is closed, or I will get the police involved. I know it's someone to do with the club because they directly mntioned it in the first call before hanging up and referenced a player trialing with us in a text message responding to the first message I sent to them saying 'I have your number.'

Ah I see, you don't know who it is yet, sorry, assumed you did... I was going to suggest you put them through gruelling fitness sessions and then not play them at the weekend as some sort of revenge. But I guess that's a problem not knowing. You could notify the police that you are being harassed, they can trace the number to identify the owner of the phone can't they?

When they are getting changed, discretely ring the number. When the little scrote who's been calling you rummages in his bag, hang up. You will know who it is then. Don't forget to block your own number though.

Have been nasty or malicious? Use your judgement on whether to handle it yourself, drop it altogether or pass it on. It does sound on the face of it Colin to be over-exuberance but you will have to decide on that tbh.

If you decide that there is no nastiness intendede, come back on here and we will devise a cunning plan, possibly involving tabasco sauce.

btw Colin, did you catch any results from the elite of Kent, not a bad start for either of us eh? Although yours was only a friendly, good luck mate?

I did mate! 3-0 over Ashford is always a bonus. Loved seeing the Gills get 5 too. It's about time the 'Gate had a good season, and i'm looking forward to the trip to the Priestfield this year, was so gutted that the went down from the Championship the same year we went down from the Prem.

As for the kids, best to leave it, if it happens again I have a point of contact to refer to the coppers, it'll all be linked somehow.

It's the one tie (plus at SMS) that I am not too sure about tbh. I wouldn't miss them for the world, but will probably sit on my hands throughout both games.

Well, while I like to see them do well, there is only one team in Kent I could possibly want saints to draw with. Will you be making the trip to Gillingham? If so I may request to join you.....

/\

I will be there.

It'll be the second to last game of the season so could be massive. As I'll be taking mrs h to see family and staying the weeekend, the best I could offer you is a beer in the Napier Arms, Fleur de Lys or The Livingston, although I shouldn't imagine their are many 'away friendly' pubs in the town., possible exception being the Southern Belle right opposite the station.

Gillingham is proper 'boozer' territory, I don't even think wetherspoons have managed to infiltrate the town yet. A good one to stop at if you were travelling would be the Honourable Pilot on the A2, a bit of a walk, but easy to find, safe parking, beer and food.
