northyorksaint Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 according to a huddersfield and a millwall lad i know both teams put bids in for him, millwalls was apparently 1.5 million, but both turned down, sure it was the wages that made him sign for us, but lookin at him on you tube the lad is worth every penny! he knows this league well!!! a very exciting signing imo!!!!! Red Alert Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 Lambert will always have a place in my heart. Some will say he was nowhere near as good as Roberts, Hayles et al... but I was only a wee lad then and I didn't really truely appreciate just how lucky we were to have them. Lambert is the first player I've felt truely privelaged to have on our books. Seems like they really are going to miss him. Personally cant say I have seen much of him, but looks a promising signing and a sign of the future intent from ML and AP perhaps.
S-Clarke Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 Looks like its not just rovers fans who are reacting. Blackpool fans are bemoaning the unfairness of it all - how we can be within a c*ck-hair of going out of business and then splash 7 figures on a quality player. ignorance and sour grapes.... http://fansonline.net/blackpool/mb/view.php?id=219787 I forgot that had brett there...hasn't made much of an impression though by the sounds of it. WhiteleySaint Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 For the past 18 months I've have had the terrible misfortune of having to work and live in Bristol, which as you can imagine hasn't been fanstatic as we've slip out of the Championship. Lets just say this news is some what welcome!! COYR

Thedelldays Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 Jesus christ they should try losing players like we have over the last 10 years or so.. most of which HAVE been to clubs in the same league as us at that time.. ffs
eelpie Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 and Bale We lost Channon too to Man City at the height of his powers. Dean Richards to Spurs which made us hate Spurs.

southamptonfclegend Posted 11 August, 2009 Share Posted 11 August, 2009 "ur club must b laughing. Rovers should had got £1.5m - £2m for a players who has scored 40 odd goals in 2 years. Our club not a club who wants to improve on last season....so we sell our best player to a club with financial problems, -9 points and a uncertain future." love this comment so much, a uncertain future? and financial problems i wouldn't call having an owner with 2.5 billion a financial problem aha for once it feels like maybe we're on the up really happy with the signing hopefully a few more to be added then we could make a real go for the play-offs although it will be very tough
