saint_bert Posted 12 November, 2009 Share Posted 12 November, 2009 Can see why you got so annoyed that this song gets sung too quick etc. Annoyed teh sh!t out of me last night
Tractor_Saint Posted 12 November, 2009 Share Posted 12 November, 2009 Annoyed teh sh!t out of me last night Maybe because I was sitting in row C of Kingsland and getting soaking wet and trying to keep as dry and warm as possible, but got really really f***ed off with the continued chant of 'Stand up, if you love the Saints'. Would have liked to stand up but a) I'm at the front, so can't really but know all the Northam are looking at ME b) Am f***ing cold and wet (see above) Was really hoping for a slow OWTSGMI last night but only heard the already normal speed version and didn't hear the slow one?? Andy_Porter Posted 12 November, 2009 Share Posted 12 November, 2009 'Oh no, now you're f*cked. Look who's in our team... Connolly, Connolly, Connolly, Connolly, Life is but a dream.' I rock. Your attempt to get this started last night was an embarassment.
Evil Monkey Posted 12 November, 2009 Share Posted 12 November, 2009 Your attempt to get this started last night was an embarassment. The entire ground were belting it out it while you were getting the beers in.

St. Jason Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 +1. Sounded crap when sung so fast. This is a great song, but to be honest if we're not going to sing the WHOLE song and at a pace that its audible, I feel it will probably die at home but stay a favourite away!!!! RedAndWhite91 Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 Yeah I agree it does get sung way too fast. Then because of that, people only join in the 'na na na' bit, and then it sounds rubbish. Slow it down!
Arizona Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 I think the singing at SMS has become a bit crap really. It starts off with that f**king "Shoot the Pompey Scum" song about 5 times, then OWTS at 110mph, then "STPS" again. Can't we ditch "STPS" all together, sing OWTS slowly and come up with something a bit more creative.
Northam Girls Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 All the songs get sung too quickly. Anyone that was at Southend a couple of seasons ago must remember singing OWTS slowly for ages - it sounded absolutely brilliant. Please please please can we slow the singing down - we're on telly on Sunday so lets show everyone what fantastic fans we really are :-)
RedAndWhite91 Posted 29 March, 2010 Share Posted 29 March, 2010 Bump. Just read in the matchday programme from the final: There's a little ditty Saints fans like to sing about their beloved Rickie Lambert that includes a cheeky line that rhymes with Matt Le Tissier's name. While the big man does indeed "wear the shirt of Matt Le Tiss" and can take the mickey out of defenders much like the legendary one....... I'll take the credit for that one, thankyou very much
Saintandy666 Posted 29 March, 2010 Share Posted 29 March, 2010 Can see the chorus of that being quite catchy, the verse might be a bit complex though and turn into the current Rickie Lambert song verse AKA 'NANANANANANANANNAA' edit: and I just realised this is page 8, I was referring to the original post
LeBoyer Posted 30 March, 2010 Share Posted 30 March, 2010 Apologies, I posted this on a new thread a few days ago but didn't know this one existed. This one's for Rickie... "THE LAMBERT WALK" Just got back from Wembley and inspired by reading a headline in the JPT programme today, here's another short song for Rickie. Given that we've just won in the capital and the music comes from a musical based in London, "Me and My Girl", I thought this was quite appropriate at the time. The tune is "The Lambeth Walk"... Verse 1 At St. Mary's and away Rickie puts the goals away And you'll find us all Doin' the Lambert walk...Oi! Verse 2 Everything's bright and breezy Makin' the goals look easy He's bound to score, now that's a cert Rickie Lam-bert Repeat.... Thoughts?
