Song for Lambert (Proper)

Recommended Posts

Stick with the Yelllow Submarine song, but change the chorus to:

"Rickie Lambert is Southampton's Goal Machine, Southampton's Goal Machine, Southampton's Goal Machine..."

How about changing Southampton to fc uk'in? I think it sounds better and less of a mouth full.

Or how about...

He stands just over 6 foot 3,

Rickie, Rickie,

He’ll take us to the Premier League,

Rickie, Rickie,

He gets the ball, he takes the ****,

He wears the shirt of Matt Le Tiss,

Ricky Lambert, Southamptons Goal machine

Got to be this one and just like the torres version a chorus of na na na's after

I'm hoping to go to the Swindon match (yet to book tickets though) and considering I posted that chant I guess I should join in... Let's hope we are relatively near eachother!

thinking out loud.....

He wears the Red and White with pride

Rickie, Rickie,

There ain't no place for you to hide

Rickie, Rickie,

He gets the ball, he takes the ****,

He wears the shirt of Matt Le Tiss,

And the Saints Go Marching when Lambert scores a goal

then

Knock, Knock

Who's there?

The old 'two by two' song is so versatile, we could even have a verse for each player if people were serious enough about updating the songs. Never though should we lose our enthusiasm for OWTSGMI, slow or fast it's ours to last.

It wasn't so long ago either, that Saints fans were acknowledged by York University as the 'most in-tune' singers in the premier league:

http://www.york.ac.uk/admin/presspr/pressreleases/perfectpitch.htm

....

When Kelvin's in between the sticks

Hurrah, hurrah

And Richie starts to take the p**s

Hurraah, hurrah

When Murty plays it down the line

You know the boys are doing fine

And we all stand up cos 'The Sainst Are Marching In'

Knock.... Knock.....

Who's there?

etc etc......

or

Stand up if you love The Saints

Stand up....

I quite like the idea that we have a song that always leads into OWTSGMI though.

Just fyi, the so called 'torres' song was originally either 'The Runaway train' or 'The Animals Came In 2 by 2'. The latter being based on the biblical story of Noah's Ark.

don't thank me, I am here to educate, it's my job.

If you are about 3, then yes.

Otherwise, its an American Civial war song; "When Johnny Comes Marching Home". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_Johnny_Comes_Marching_Home

There were a bunch of us sang your song it for quite a while after he scored BUT we tried telling the lads to slow it down a bit - people were turning round and listening but couldn't get the words as it was sung too quickly.

It sounded brilliant and I'm sure it will catch on - great song R&W :-)

That was me and my group, we tried slowing it down and I think the second half of the song was easier to catch onto, and alot of people joined the nananana bit, it will definitely take off Tuesday, after a few slow renditions, but I agree, it sounds class when sung!

I am not 3 fyi, and when I was at school they learnt me that Noah preceded the Amertican Ciivil War by quite a few years, so it's the Noah song all the way unless you want to argue with God Pancake. Do you want to argue with God Pancake? Do you?
