sad saints fan Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 Well I stayed up to watch but it didnt seem to be much better than itv coverage last year.maybe a bit slicker and no adverts but only a very short clip of the saints game.
LeBenali Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 To be fair we can't expect much more then goals from League 1/2 matches. Would have been nice to see Schneiderlin's effort again. I guess it would have been good for more of the Championship matches to have live commentary as opposed to voice over's though.
Giamlarrahan Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 More highlights will be online come Monday morning.

I didn't stay up - knackered after going to the game - and sounds like I didn't miss too much.
the boy from saints Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 I'm wondering if it will get on the iPlayer. Yep. Just watching it now!
Stepgar Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00m38q7/The_Football_League_Show_08_08_2009/ Scroll to 42 mins it should be there. Must say the penalty was very harsh.
St.Thomas7 Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 I have to say I was actually really happy with the show, much better than itv and the championship coverage was pretty much all a few highlights plus goals rather than itv's clueless 2 secs as the ball crosses the line... Of course its only going to be the goals and major talking points (Davis pen save) from L1/2. The show is an hour and a half, I got the impression they were over-running anyway toward the end. Loved the Norwich highlights, (they were 40-1 to go down before yesterday, I wonder if that has changed?) you just know on itv, with it being league 1 we wouldn't of seen all the goals and one of those championship games would of been shown via drunk touchline cam. One bad point was that you could clearly tell that the show was being filmed in some old warehouse as the echo on the acoustics was silly at times! all in all good show, not sure you need the email and texts thing though... 9/10

I liked it, slick, and much more professional than ITV, but thats whats expected from the Beeb.

HornseySaintsFan Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 It was like a football version of Crimewatch.... thats what i thought. maybe its because Joey Barton will be playing
unionhotel Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 The funniest thing was seeing the pikey boy wobbling from side to side as if he was still sat on his caravan. LMFAO
merrimd Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 Its a real bugger that we are not in the ccc. thought that was pretty comprehensive motd-lite style coverage. not sure you can expect anymore for L1 & L2 unfortunately.
richie Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 Didnt like the fact it was held in a warehouse and there's no need to have that bird reading out emails. It made it a bit channel five. But on the whole it was pretty good. Too much chat at the start and we didnt have any action for the first ten minutes.
RonManager Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 Too much blether and not enough action. These progs don't even need a presenter IMO.
Nutwood2 Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 How did they manage to secure the services of the two most objectionable blokes in football....Claridge and Holloway? I can't stand either of 'em. And the bird reading the emails is just too enthusiastic and lively. Do breakfast TV luv. I'm asleep then. And what's with the dungeon that they're in? Have they got a well we can throw them all down?
