Glasgow_Saint Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Meanwhile....... Swindon Town boss Danny Wilson has confirmed his interest in signing Bristol City striker Lee Trundle. What a partnership that would be Trundle and Lambert.......?

That we are signing Lambert is a true statement of intent to the division.

Smirking_Saint Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 This has been on the forum for a while, i am surprised the daily echo moles have not picked it up yet !!!
chrisobee Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Wonderful news. I'm sure you'd welcome any signing as long as their surname isn't Cook TBH
Ludwig Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 If we could get Webber up top with him... pace and power. Then Saga/Rasiak can bugger off and we can bring in Craddock/whoever as back-up with Pato.
Smirking_Saint Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 If we could get Webber up top with him... pace and power. Then Saga/Rasiak can bugger off and we can bring in Craddock/whoever as back-up with Pato. Were gonna sign Pato too ?? Not sure he will drop down to league 1 tbh, he is a mainstay at milan. HCDAJFU though
Under Weststand Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 according to Bristol local paper deal already done for £1m to be announced later today http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/bristolrovers/news/Bristol-Rovers-striker-Rickie-Lambert-seals-1m-Southampton/article-1237768-detail/article.html That's great news lets hope its all tied up today
Ludwig Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 I'm sure you'd welcome any signing as long as their surname isn't Cook TBH Well, yes, naturally. I did see he didn't save us, again, terrible cricketer.
saints_is_the_south Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 When is the latest everything needs to be done to enable him to play tomorrow? Hopefully his signing might boost the crowd abit.
Dan Johnson Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 MASSIVE SIGNING... in fact the biggest signing you could probably make as a league 1 club! I've just emailed my Bristol Rovers supporting mate, see what he has to sign... I think it'll be something along the lines of You bunch of C*#!s
greg_hill Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Great news, let's hope it goes through with no problems. We are bound to lose at least one of the Polish duo but if we can hold them until we get one more striker in, then we'll have a very strong attacking line: Lambert, Paterson and one more.
thorpie the sinner Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 lets just announce the darn thing!!!

Crab Lungs Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 could have been MLT himself: for a big lad, very good feet... not just a battering ram, although will provide some of the bulk we so desperately need.
Master Bates Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 lets just announce the darn thing!!! Calm down dear. That's what afternoons are for.
Chez Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 has anyone ever spent a million quid in one go in league 1?
St.Patrik Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Another link of this story. http://www.bristolrovers.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=165242
Colinjb Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 has anyone ever spent a million quid in one go in league 1? Fulham signed Peschisolido for 1 mill or so back in 1997.
thorpie the sinner Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Calm down dear. That's what afternoons are for. 22 minutes to go then lol!
Ludwig Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Fulham spent £1.1M on Paul Peschisolido in 1998.
samoakley Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Well im optmistic this season if we sign Lambert and Jaidi 2 quality players for this league. Saga and Lambert with Paterson as 3rd choice would be quality.
Matthew Le God Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 has anyone ever spent a million quid in one go in league 1? Barry Hayles cost £2m I think when Fulham were big spenders 10 years ago. But this year in League One no-one has spent more than 500k on a player so this deal smashes that.
St. Neil Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Didnt even realise he scored on saturday, good finish I thought. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/8192313.stm
saintsforlife7 Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Who's going to come up with the song then
saint_bert Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 People wanted a statement signing, well by the looks of things were getting it! I just hope people realise now Pardew knows what he is doing.
The Dogman Of Bassett Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Just had a text from a friend who works for Bristol Rovers: "Lambert is going to Southampton, he's having his medical this morning".
paris Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 So nice to feel positive once again about SFC... It helps with me being back at work after my vacances..
Crab Lungs Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Just had a text from Rickie, he's told me to tell you he's on his way to Southampton for a medical.
Whitey Grandad Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Fulham spent £1.1M on Paul Peschisolido in 1998. ...and look where they are now.
Albie79 Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/bristolrovers/news/Bristol-Rovers-striker-Rickie-Lambert-seals-1m-Southampton/article-1237768-detail/article.html They seem to think it's all done already. Good times.
Um Bongo Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Scored against us as well. With some help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfyP7zmhNNo Bristol Rovers fans are gutted!
Crab Lungs Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 after watching this vid and the previous ones on this thread, this fella is waaaaaay to good for this level, he's defo got a touch above this station. Delighted to get him.
.comsaint Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 When is the latest everything needs to be done to enable him to play tomorrow?... 12 o'clock midday...so if it happens - it'll be tight!
stevegrant Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Fantastic signing, and if the fees quoted in the Bristol Post are accurate, it's an absolute bargain as well.
Tac-tics Posted 10 August, 2009 Author Posted 10 August, 2009 see you guys should pay attention to me
Colinjb Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 see you guys should pay attention to me To be fair, your opening comment was a little vague. You have been rather good with your sources recently I must say.....
Saint Bowood Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Who's going to come up with the song then Can only be - the usual new striker song... Oh Rickie Rickie - used to be a gasser but hes alright now ;-)
Katalinic Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 see you guys should pay attention to me Any other little nuggets about other signings and is the Jaidi deal 100% dead?
