Master Bates Posted 11 August, 2009 Share Posted 11 August, 2009 (edited) Probably already mentioned but apparently Lambert starts tonight According to the Echo, we're fielding 13 players again. Edited 11 August, 2009 by Master Bates

Charlie Wayman Posted 11 August, 2009 Share Posted 11 August, 2009 I'm beginning to be very fond of Alan Pardew, very fond indeed! He seems to call it just as common sense sees it. On Saturday Schneiderlen was outstanding, Lallana was utter sewage and it was clear to all that we needed a striker urgently. So what does AP do? Praises Schneiderlen as man of the match, castigates Lallana as being "able to do much better" and buys Lambert, the highest goal scorer in the league last year. At last a bloke with COMMON football SENSE. Oh, I do love to be a Saints fan with Alan Pardew at the helm.

Nexstar Posted 11 August, 2009 Share Posted 11 August, 2009 From a Charlton forum. Convict Colony Posted 11 August, 2009 Share Posted 11 August, 2009 got off a plane to perth at 2am local time today (oz time) and turned on my phone and saw i had a text. When i saw rickie lambert had signed I thought who the F8ck is that (my L1 player database being small) and quicky jumped on here. Since then i have been beaming like a tool and enjoyed sending youtube clips to my luton supporting mate, I am so stoked with this signing, the exact effect NC promised, i would love a rickie rocket tonight to kick start his scoring spree. Thanks to all on the forum as all your research benefits us plebs out in the wider world, tic tac's is currently the forum legend until he can't predict the future and we all pick on him. I am enjoying OBS referring to himself in the 3rd person as well.

He can score goals. hth Well Gordon Watson has a big dossier on league 1 and says he is who we need to watch out for and need to bring in! Watch this space. Looks like Tic-Tac's may have got his wish. Apparently a done deal - 800k agreed, will sign in the next couple of days. Check the ''speculation thread'' and the Bristol rovers forums - they're going mad. to be fair, I don't think he ever claimed to be ITK, think he was dead keen and suggesting. pfc123 Posted 11 August, 2009 Share Posted 11 August, 2009 A little bird tells me that the Pompey fans had trouble recognizing any of their players against rangers on Saturday,he also told me that the rangers fans outnumbered the pompey fans, seeing as rangers sold their full allocation of 5k that is pretty poor for a prem club. To be outnumbered by the away fans.....now that is pedigree. Hmmm, now let me see- Pompey youth/reserves v Rangers youth/reserves @ £20 a pop. Not a very attractive game is it? I'm surprised we got 9k to be honest. And your little bird is wrong by the way- Rangers had just over 2000 there....

They complain about a player they want but probably could not afford, ohh sorry you bagged him first, so we wont put an offer in even though you have not made an offer. Ok, the Lambert thread ISN'T really anything to do with us- I just replied to one particular post out of mischief really. Actually, I probably DO spend more time on here because: a) The banter with you guys is more interesting than our own, especially at the moment with all the doom and gloom that is PFC just now b) Our sites are more splintered- there's not really one that nearly everyone goes on. On here you do get the feeling that this is where the majority of saints fans are posting and viewing. Technically, our sites are quite poor also, and this one has a nice format, the way it's put together. c) It either this or talk to the wife all night In actual fact a couple of scummers at work are going to the game tonight. Daren W Posted 11 August, 2009 Share Posted 11 August, 2009 5k v Hearts. Not bad, but no better than our 9k when weighed up I think.... It's miles away and you know it... Two friendlies in a week and on the same day as the Hants game. I personally know of 25 fans who prefered Hants or a second consecutive friendly. I think we need to ascertain what sort of opposition Rangers are. You beat them and they're the champions of Scotland and a Champions League side You get a paltry 9,000 in attendance and they're not that great a draw and no better than Boton or Hull... Just face facts, for your main pre season game 9,000 is a ****ing discgrace. Just as being outspent by a League One side when you're a Premiership outfit... Attendances, signings, chairmen, stadiums, set ups..... It's just not your year is it?
