Smirking_Saint Posted 8 August, 2009 Posted 8 August, 2009 Nice to see him showing some support. I am not actually reading anything into this, just think it's good to see the wee man
saint lard Posted 8 August, 2009 Posted 8 August, 2009 Liebherr sitting there draped in his red and white scarf is a pleasant sight, especially with the tottie sitting to his right.
VectisSaint Posted 8 August, 2009 Posted 8 August, 2009 Nice to see him showing some support. I am not actually reading anything into this, just think it's good to see the wee man Think he's working for Sky in some way
SuperMikey Posted 8 August, 2009 Posted 8 August, 2009 Nearly sh*t a brick when I saw him, great to see him back at SMS. Would love to have him back at some time doing some sort of ambassadorial/DOF role, possibly even manager in the future. Also fantastic to see ML with the Saints scarf on, I had an ear-to-ear grin plastered across my face for about 20 minutes after seeing that!
bug187 Posted 8 August, 2009 Posted 8 August, 2009 WGS. When you see him you'll sh*t bricks. And who is that next to Liebherr eh?
Mr X Posted 8 August, 2009 Posted 8 August, 2009 WGS was Just there because he/his daughter lives in southampton
ruddick Posted 8 August, 2009 Posted 8 August, 2009 WGS was Just there because he/his daughter lives in southampton Yes I don't think anyone seriously thinks he is about to take over from Pardew - just good to see him there and interesting to see him in the box - clearly invited and clearly supporting the new administration.

NickG Posted 8 August, 2009 Posted 8 August, 2009 glad to see this thread - told someone and they didn't believe me! Started to think I might have been mistaken!
Bailey Posted 8 August, 2009 Posted 8 August, 2009 Strachan in the Directors Box, Benali too! Loved the standing ovation for Le Tiss as he walked round the ground to fulfil his Sky duties also. Even better to see Liebherr with a Saints scarf round his neck! Great stuff!
eelpie Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 DOF? WGS for DOF was a good idea before AP became manager. If one is ever appointed, I trust it will be someone who AP approves of (painful memories and all that). Relationships between the two jobs are pretty crucial. And Pardew seems to be enjoying how things are right now. I personally hope we never have a DOF, unless in years to come, AP having led us to new heights -like Ted Bates did - takes on that role with a younger up-and-coming manager below him, like Ted did. (How nice it is to dream. Meanwhile, one match at a time!)
Whitey Grandad Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 I read something in the papers this morning (either Daily Mail or Times, I can't remember which) that a guest of Cortese was asked to pay £125 for his lunch and seat. Could that have been WGS? It also mentioned that ML and Cortese had to buy their own season tickets, as we already knew.

The Directors box did look a bit sparse yesterday for the first game of the season. Must be the new regime where they have to pay for their tickets. Good to get rid of the freeloaders like Wiseman, etc.
Chez Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 anyone know what the private box sales are like this season. I couldn't see many in use.
Third Division South Days Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 With his knowledge of the game north of the border he may well have given advice to AP on potential signings from Scotland?
fish fingers Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 anyone know what the private box sales are like this season. I couldn't see many in use. i counted 5 in use on Saturday.
Chez Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 i counted 5 in use on Saturday. did that include the RAW box which never seems to be used by its owners?
dune Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Don't want Strachan back. Alan Pardew is the boss, the last thing we need is Strachan putting a spanner in the works.
david in sweden Posted 11 August, 2009 Posted 11 August, 2009 (edited) Nice to see him showing some support. I am not actually reading anything into this, just think it's good to see the wee man .of course Saints are WGS' local side now, why shouldn't he come? If Cortese is half as asute as I think ..he will get around to the post of DOF sooner or later...." do you know anyone you can recommend Gordon ?..or would you be interested in that role yourself ..maybe ? " (Having a few legendary figures around SMS won't do any harm at all.) BTW ....Has anyone (at the top) spoken to MLT since the Pinnacle debacle - I do hope so ! He's the " other part " of our recent history. Edited 11 August, 2009 by david in sweden
