There's a whisper on the Pompey news site this morning saying that the club will be debt free after August 24th. Apparently the first instalment of the Sky money is paid the day before and it's going straight to Standard bank of South Africa as the last repayment of the loan Sascha took out initially. Now, whether that means that from then on we're 'completely debt free' is a moot point. I think it will bring it down to the last 20m that Gaydamak is owed personally. Either way, very good progress on what was a crippling debt..... Do Sky actually pay all that much up front? It just sounds too easy and simple to be true. I acknowledge your point about the relatively low debt but surely the issue is the urgency. As I understand it, you have up until early September to pay off your debts or it's administration time. For people with that condition and their families it is no laughing matter. If I came on here and accused him of having a severe mental illness without any in depth knowledge of his personal life then that would be another thing entirely. Unfortunately, your brother is in the public eye and as an entertainer like footballers, politicians, etc he will be viewed differently by different people who will comment accordingly. Look at the stuff said about Lowe! Obviously, if I come on here and voice my opinion that I find Mike Osman grating and a poor comedian you get upset because he is your brother but to me its no different than voicing my preference for Claret over some mouthwash called Chianti. The cancer episode was simply a case of me understanding the stance the club took on that particular occassion. Nothing pathetic about it as I am able to draw on my own experiences in this regard and perhaps be a tad more honest in my self appraisal as to how I now treat raising money for chairty as oppose to my previous reaction of simply 'crossing the street'. Like many of us, when it comes to charity I was a classic aftertimer but others don't like to recognise that. It appears to me many would like me banned because they don't like my opionions or respond to the usual insults. Instead of bleating on to the moderators perhaps you should exercise your right to place me on your ignore list as I have as much right to post my views on this forum as anyone else provided I adhere to the rules and pay my subs.
