The Fat Controller Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Outside feeling that Norwich may sneek it
Scummer Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Wasn't very impressed by Gunn as a manager last season. I'll go for Leeds.
StuRomseySaint Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Based on the most points gained - Southampton Who will actually win - MK Dons Where Saints will actually finish after the points deduction - 4th
Suhari Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Based on the most points gained - Southampton Who will actually win - MK Dons Where Saints will actually finish after the points deduction - 4th Love the optimism. And I agree. Let's be positive for a change.
SaintDonkey Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Don't think Gunn's the right man for Norwich, he did virtually nothing to arrest their decline last season winning just 5 of 19 compared to Roeders 7 from 27. Can't see any of the demoted sides winning the championship so you have to go for the best of the sides that missed out on promotion last time. I know they finished 5th but they made the play off final so it's Millwall for me.
Nexstar Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I would go for Millwall and Orient around the top two.
JustinR Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Sky have Huddersfield.... well backed, plenty of money and new players
ericofarabia Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I wont bother predicting seeing as last season I predicted us for a playoff win promotion and Burnley dead certs for relegation
SaintDonkey Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I wont bother predicting seeing as last season I predicted us for a playoff win promotion and Burnley dead certs for relegation  That sounds like a pretty good prediction for this year. Maybe you're just far sighted
saint stu 20 Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 SAINTS -10 to start with is nothing, we can win the league on 102pts and have 10 taken off and still win the league!
Shropshire Saint Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Huddersfield will be there or thereabouts as will Leeds if they can hang on to Beckford. Midtable for us but could sneak into the playoffs depending on signings.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 leeds for me if they keep beckford,millwall second,saints hopefuly play-offs
the_barmy_saints_army Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I think you could be surprised by Huddersfield
Doctoroncall Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Norwich or Huddersfield, both have bought well, only doubt is Gunn for Norwich where as Clark is well regarded as a Manager. Watch out for some funny match reports from a Huddersfield fan: http://www.htfc-world.com/
KK the 2nd Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Dirty Leeds I'm afraid. They are also the clear favourites with the bookies.
Saint Bowood Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Norwich to win - Saints in 6th - dark horse for play-offs Swindon , (Danny Wilson settling-in and if he can add a striker to some good summer signings)
S-Clarke Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Norwich or Huddersfield, both have bought well, only doubt is Gunn for Norwich where as Clark is well regarded as a Manager. Watch out for some funny match reports from a Huddersfield fan: http://www.htfc-world.com/ That site is genius.
Cabrone Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Millwall. If we could scrape the playoffs I'd fancy our chances.
aintforever Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Huddersfield to win and Leeds second. Gunn hasn't done anything to suggest he can manage, Norwich were rubbish under him last year.
Doctoroncall Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 That site is genius. Indeed, the latest match report is funny as ****.
Wildgoose Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 We will.........one day! :-) Come on you Saints!
brightspark Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Leeds or Norwich for me. Play Offs: Huddersfield, Oldham, Charlton, Saints (hopefully) don't care about relegation... considering we shouldn't be anywhere near there post-christmas
The9 Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Millwall and Leeds for automatic, Huddersfield, MK Dons, Norwich and Charlton for playoffs (figure I'd ladle in the big teams cos a few will come good), with Wycombe, Stockport, Gillingham and Tranmere (who are managed by John Barnes and thus doomed) to go down. Saints to come 14th. Have we even had the customary "where will Saints finish?" poll ? And where's last season's, so we can all have a good laugh at how deluded we were ?
martel Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Wasn't very impressed by Gunn as a manager last season. I'll go for Leeds. I have to go with Leeds as well.
The9 Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Norwich or Huddersfield, both have bought well, only doubt is Gunn for Norwich where as Clark is well regarded as a Manager. Watch out for some funny match reports from a Huddersfield fan: http://www.htfc-world.com/ Those match reports are just, ber-illiant. Can't wait til they stuff us now.
RoundHill-Saint Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Leeds Saints Huddersfield Norwich Exeter my top five in that order
Colinjb Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Norwich or Huddersfield, both have bought well, only doubt is Gunn for Norwich where as Clark is well regarded as a Manager. Watch out for some funny match reports from a Huddersfield fan: http://www.htfc-world.com/ Utterly outstanding, the best thing to come out of yorkshire, well, ever!
wireframebox Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Anyone else notice that the BBC no longer have us down as -10 in the league table? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/default.stm
saints_is_the_south Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Norwich i reckon, Huddersfield finishing 2nd. Not sure about the play offs, us if we make em tho!
Joesaint Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I'm feeling optimistic but not sure if it will be a slowish start. Play-off's is a good target, hope. COYS
bigchrisy Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Top 6 IMHO: 1. Norwich 2. Huddersfield 3. Oldham 4. Charlton 5. Leeds 6. Saints
DrunkenSaint Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Charlton and millwall top 2 i think we'll finish just short of the play offs not sure why ppl are going for leeds, they not bought in alot of talent and a leeds supporter friend said he'll be very happy even if they reached the playoffs this year.
krissyboy31 Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Charlton and millwall top 2 i think we'll finish just short of the play offs not sure why ppl are going for leeds, they not bought in alot of talent and a leeds supporter friend said he'll be very happy even if they reached the playoffs this year. I can't see Charlton being anywhere near. In fact I think they'll be closer to the relegation zone than the play-offs.
RonManager Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 How many more times on how many threads do I have to keep saying this - SAINTS 1st!! FFS
dubai_phil Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 Anyone changed their mind about Norwich? Couple of their ST holders sure did! lol Ain't hindsight, even for one day, a wonderful thing
VectisSaint Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 (edited) With the hindsight of yesterday's matches, I predict Millwall Edited 10 August, 2009 by VectisSaint
LaptopSaint Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 It's that optimistic time of year so I think we could just get more points than anyone else in the league. Sadly in our position that may not be enough to win it. But seriously folks, if Cortese et all deliver the goods we will have one of the best teams in this league. Look what they've done so far - Day one persuade Kelvin not to go to the Prem. Result - we have the best keeper in the league - First two signings - Murty and Harding. Result - we probably have the best first choice full backs in the league. If they keep going I see no reason why we can't get to the play-offs.
Panda Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Lots of votes for Norwich here yet Norwich 1 Colchester 7! How about Colchester and Millwall for automatic promotion? Play off places - no idea!

Result - we probably have the best striker in the league. Happy ****ing days!!!!!!!!
SaintNeil90 Posted 10 August, 2009 Posted 10 August, 2009 Getting lambert in is a sign of what we want to achieve. I reckon we will sneak into the play offs, however what happens in that is a another story. I would love a trip to wembley.
