krissyboy31 Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 Mmmm! Think they're mixing him up with his brother "played centre half." "dominance in the air." I do think he'll have a decent season though and hopefully improve like Gillett and James did last term.
S-Clarke Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 I wouldn't say he will be competing with Lallana for a CM position  He will play as a left winger/attacking full back. A very talented young player though, i believe he was scouted by Man Utd about 3-4 years ago - he just took a little longer to develop and was overshadowed by Bale bursting onto the scene in my ways.
shurlock Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 (edited) F**king eureeka our CB problems are solved!!! Recycled wikipedia is more professional than this garbage (that's not to say mills isnt a prospect) Edited 6 August, 2009 by shurlock

S-Clarke Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 thought he is quite tall? He's not small. Similar kind of height to Bale.
team-saint Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 To be fair he is a decent jumper just not too tall.
Ash Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 That website is bobbins, lists Wayne Thomas as our best striker! Unless they are privy to Pardew's master plan.
doughnutman Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 That website is bobbins, lists Wayne Thomas as our best striker! Unless they are privy to Pardew's master plan. And lists Jan Poortvliet as our manager
Andy_Porter Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 Quality player. We need to do all we can to keep hold of him, Paterson and Lallana they're the three with the most potential in our squad imo. Really glad he stuck with us and didn't go to Scunny.
eurosaint Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 He's not small. Similar kind of height to Bale. No way, unless I am sitting further back in the Kingsland than I thought ! He really looks quite small to me and I never noticed him being good in the air !
Saint_clark Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 Who the fook is Alfie Potter?!?! Bloke who played for Havant and Waterlooville V Liverpool and tore them to pieces, I think. Anyway, Mills is quite good in the air. Not especially tall but competes anyway.
Saint_clark Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 talk me thru 'fish' ? His niece, when trying to say "joseph" always said "jofish" and it stuck.
saintwarwick Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 Who the fook is Alfie Potter?!?! Harry's brother?
farawaysaint Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 That website is bobbins, lists Wayne Thomas as our best striker! Unless they are privy to Pardew's master plan. It also gave Kelvin a 5.8 out of 10... Gobern is apparently our best player :smt040
Giamlarrahan Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Anyone else notice Safri on that list? Oh and apparently Skacel's signed according to it!
LaptopSaint Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I officially nominate 'why's he called fish?' to replace 'has skacel signed yet?' as the comedy question of choice on this forum. Why is he called Fish anyway? And where's Rudi?
Seany S Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I notice that website says that Paul Wotton is the fourth worst player, overall, in the world.
sidthesquid Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I notice that website says that Paul Wotton is the fourth worst player, overall, in the world. S it's not completely wrong then...
sidthesquid Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I notice that website says that Paul Wotton is the fourth worst player, overall, in the world. And one of them is in prison, too
ribbo Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Quality player. We need to do all we can to keep hold of him, Paterson and Lallana they're the three with the most potential in our squad imo. Really glad he stuck with us and didn't go to Scunny. i would say lallana, fish and LJ, with hopefully in the next couple of years patterson, gobern and mclaggon, the likes of thomson, jamie white and maybe a few others might really flourish under Pardew. Either way, really looking forward to seeing how these guys do with stability and better managment

Isn't he one to watch too?
krissyboy31 Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I got the impression that Ryan Doble put in several impressive performances in the pre-season games. Isn't he one to watch too? Difference is, he will be given time to develop and a place here and there on the bench or in the Carling Cup. He won't be thrown in in a sink or swim fashion, like the youngsters were last season.

I only mentioned Doble in the same breath as ribbo mentioned McLaggon, Thomson, White, Paterson, Gobern as good prospects, as he doesn't seem to be far adrift of them. Definitely one for the future as far as I can see and I'm sure that we will polish him up gradually and build his confidence and ability at the right pace.
