What an excellent win on 5/8/09 against Yorkshire - a last gasp winner!

topsey turvey game....we had them pinned, then they had a spurt.

 

then we pinned them back, then they had decent last 2 overs

 

started off great, never looked in doubt. until about 10 out, then the R/R got to almost 10. carberry, altho got a decent score seemed to be a little out of nick. pitch was reported to be slow which doesnt really suit his attacking style, plus to be fair they bowled well. when Dimi came in, again looked a banker for us. but when he was out it was in the balance

 

had it all, anbd im glad it was on sky

 

ps yorkshire cant catch a break. they seemed alright, but man they made some howlers....

Fair to say I think Hants rode their luck a little ( especially Ervine who survived at least 2close run outs and a dolly of a catch ) but fielded much better than Yorks and that really made the difference.

Those run outs were both in as the third eye proved so cannot be classed as luck unlike the missed catch. Luck goes both ways.

Fair enough, I wasn't criticising Ervine though both of the near run outs were too close for comfort ! But since he got home both times then it was superbly judged running !
