Weston Super Saint Posted 5 September, 2008 Posted 5 September, 2008 Don't be so silly, that's a tuesday. Everyone knows the real action is on fridays. Not with the new group - Friday is a weekend in the Far East
mack rill Posted 5 September, 2008 Posted 5 September, 2008 Two things will happen 1) It will be delayed and delayed until the world ends some other way 2)It wont work or prove anything other than it was a waste of money and there are far more important things for scientist to be blowing millions and millions on. Would this be more millions than what there wasting trying to convince us about Global Warming,

saintjinksie Posted 5 September, 2008 Posted 5 September, 2008 Its a bit of a win win situation though, either they successfully unlock the beginnings of life or the world implodes on itself and no one is around to have a go at them. They must have Max Clifford as their PR man...

Jillyanne Posted 5 September, 2008 Posted 5 September, 2008 I think BBC 1 are covering it now on The One Show.

Master Bates Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 I believe there was a Large Hardon Collider in Winchester Prison last night.
OldNick Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 If there is any doubt it should not go ahead.

Johnny Shearer Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 I might take the day off to hide under my bed. On a serious note, I'm not looking forward to it due to all the unaccountable variables.
TopGun Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Although the LHC is due to start tomorrow we have a few more weeks grace as they aren't starting to bombard protons against each other just yet.
JonnyLove Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 as long as it doesn't go wrong before I have my holiday next week then I don't care.
Ponty Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Ah come on. What's the worst that can happen? Instant and total anihilation? That's not so bad. It's got to be better than this slow and painful decline into disasterous climate change that I'm apparently responsible for.
Hatch Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 The end of the world tomorrow would be good. The wife is going to Spain for a girlies weekend on Thursday and has been looking forward to it for ages. Anything to **** her off would amuse me.

Sheaf Saint Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 I got made redundant last week. My GF said to me "Don't worry, it's not the end of the world" Looks like she could have been horribly wrong.
Saint_clark Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 I'm actually getting more and more worried as we get closer to it. Swiss c*nts, let's go over there and destroy the f*cking thing.
dubai_phil Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Guys, relax, I can happily confirm that absolutely nothing went wrong when the LHC was fired up yesterday. The black holes never materialised, but there seems to have been an unfortunate side effect with regards to time, which now seems to have started to go backwards. Anyway the world hasn't ended, Thursday has become Wednesday and unless they fix it I'll shortly be 18 again so no problemo
Saint_clark Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Do I smoke all my green just in case? Get as much together as you can and burn it at strategic points in town to intoxicate the entire population of Southampton.

Where do you think you'll be going 18 years after that?
Saint_clark Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 It's not being 18 again that you'll have to worry about. Where do you think you'll be going 18 years after that? Even more worrying is where you'll be going 9 months after that.....
Durleyfos Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Even more worrying is where you'll be going 9 months after that..... Back in the test tube.
Johnny Shearer Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Well if it did work and time travel was possible, wouldn't people have come back from the future by now and tell us all about it? Unless they have come back but are in hiding in case they change the future and create paradoxes? OR the thing just blows up hence no one travelling back and warning us? If thats the case Setanta paid a shedload of money for England game and for no reason too.
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Well if it did work and time travel was possible, wouldn't people have come back from the future by now and tell us all about it? According to Stephen Hawking, if time travel ever exists, it will only be possible to travel back to the time when it was first invented.
Jillyanne Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 According to Stephen Hawking, if time travel ever exists, it will only be possible to travel back to the time when it was first invented. How the hell does he know - and thats rubbish, I wanted to meet George McFly at 'The Enchantment Under the Sea' dance.
Johnny Shearer Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Hmm, I prefer the Star Trek and sci-fi theories over his theories.
CabbageFace Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 If Steven Hawking is so clever why doesnt he walk.
OldNick Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 If Steven Hawking is so clever why doesnt he walk. I was going to put something on those lines and then thought better of it, by the grace of god and all that.
Jillyanne Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 If Steven Hawking is so clever why doesnt he walk. Lol.
CabbageFace Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 I was going to put something on those lines and then thought better of it, by the grace of god and all that. I might aswell mock him as tomorrow the world will end, all due to that idiot.
OldNick Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 I might aswell mock him as tomorrow the world will end, all due to that idiot.True, what has he got to live for? He allegedly gets bullied by his carer, and so he might want to get his revenge.
CabbageFace Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 True, what has he got to live for? He allegedly gets bullied by his carer, and so he might want to get his revenge. He should just go back to America and stop annoying us Brits.
OldNick Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 He should just go back to America and stop annoying us Brits. Is he American, I really didnt know,I cant place his accent as he's always got that bloody eletric razor to his throat.
Jillyanne Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 True, what has he got to live for? He allegedly gets bullied by his carer, and so he might want to get his revenge. I read that as 'he gets bullied by his car'. I did think it was odd, then read it again.
OldNick Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 I read that as 'he gets bullied by his car'. I did think it was odd, then read it again. it could be that as well.
Draino76 Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 Well I wasn't gonna have a drink tonight but I am now. May even have some sex, and try to finish MGS4.
hypochondriac Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 If mr hawking just made stuff up would people just accept it because he said it?
dubai_phil Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 It's not being 18 again that you'll have to worry about. Where do you think you'll be going 18 years after that? Hmm these days, seems like it was that long since I was last up that way so to speak.... (must be that time travel thing, because I was sure it was only a week ago...) Anyway, panic over ole croaky has it covered http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2710348/Stephen-Hawking-Large-Hadron-Collider-vital-for-humanity.html

Dog Posted 9 September, 2008 Posted 9 September, 2008 I would just like to say that I have big contacts with a worldwide company that have been doing this experiment for 18 months alot closer than you think, i guess that had to prove it worked before they can publicise it. And it does work.
