Huffton Posted 4 August, 2009 Share Posted 4 August, 2009 Taking the kids up to the big smoke on thursday, planning to drive up to Richmond/Kew area and get the tube in. Anyone know anywhere reasonable for parking within easy distance of a tube station? I know about the NCP in Richmond but if anyone knows of anywhere a bit cheaper.... benjii Posted 4 August, 2009 Share Posted 4 August, 2009 You should be able to park for free on a street somewhere I would've thought? I've done that in Richmond in the past within walking distance of the station. Times may have changed though.
Robsk II Posted 4 August, 2009 Share Posted 4 August, 2009 No, I have a mate in Richmond, I can park on some streets there for free, no worries, and last time was only a few weeks ago.

RedAndWhite91 Posted 4 August, 2009 Share Posted 4 August, 2009 Yeah that NCP place is extortionate, don't bother. Rip off.
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 4 August, 2009 Share Posted 4 August, 2009 Park at the swimming pool, about 5 minutes walk to the station. Mind you, Wimbledon is better as there is a fast train service to Waterloo.

Dicko Posted 5 August, 2009 Share Posted 5 August, 2009 There's a big retail park about 5mins walk from Kew station I parked there for four hours a couple of years back with no problems

sambosa75 Posted 5 August, 2009 Share Posted 5 August, 2009 The Kings Mall car park in Hammersmith is very cheap. Usually about £8 for the whole day and is really close to the station which is on the Picadilly and District line.

Usually about £8 for the whole day and is really close to the station which is on the Picadilly and District line. I've used this one many times. Also try Wimbledon or Mordon haven't been there for a few years but I recall that the car parks were cheap and the tube is about a 5 minute walk at both. Enjoy you day out, I'm taking the kids to the O2 on Friday, staying over night and going into the smoke on Saturday (missing the game - bad planning:mad:). You can park at the O2 on a Saturday for £3 all day, well you could last year, I hope it hasn't changed.

Torres Posted 5 August, 2009 Share Posted 5 August, 2009 (edited) Park at the swimming pool, about 5 minutes walk to the station. Mind you, Wimbledon is better as there is a fast train service to Waterloo. There's a fast service from Richmond too. Most of Richmond town centre is controlled parking, as is most of Richmond Hill. http://www.richmond.gov.uk/doc-parking_zone_a1_a2.pdf You could carry on up the 316 to Manor Circus, take a right there and park for free in the Homebase car park opposite North Sheen station. k Train from there into Waterloo takes a little longer than from Richmond but it's only Zone 3 rather than Zone 4 so your tickets will be cheaper. All trains also stop at Vauxhall too if you want to hop on the Viccy line. BTW - there are some people who park in that car park all day, every weekday when they get the train to work. Homebase don't give a f***. Edited 5 August, 2009 by Torres
Michelle Posted 5 August, 2009 Share Posted 5 August, 2009 There's a lot of stuff gets nicked from cars in that one. Park in there every time I go up to London for work, never had a problem. All day for £8 is a bargain.
KK the 2nd Posted 6 August, 2009 Share Posted 6 August, 2009 I used to drive up the M3/A316 regularly. Always parked near Kew Grdns tube - no problem leaving the car there all day and free parking. Was about six years ago though.
