chrisobee Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Haddin is back so I can keep him in, Clark in for Hauritz.
the stain Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Well hopefully Prior will get a nice long, sit-down rest. I'm done in and they haven't even started.
the stain Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Anybody actually watching this who can give a verdict on that LBW call?
JustMike Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Anybody actually watching this who can give a verdict on that LBW call? plumb out, there was 2 noises, at first sight i thought it was an inside edge but it wasnt
JustMike Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 our batting line up worries me still. Bopara and Bell in the top 4 is risky.
JustMike Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 see, my worries confirmed. Bopara gone...16/2. An awful bit of batting to, wafts his bat at a wide one, no control. Must be dropped imo
the stain Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Cook and Bell. Cook and Bell. Cook and Bell. Oh lordy...
keithd Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I see we've reached the pivitol part of the series when England throw it away....
dubai_phil Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Somehow after all the hype and excitement, we win a toss it was better to lose and I'm having nightmares about being all out for around 180 and then the clouds lift and they go and score 600 or so... think it happened a few times before Sri Lanka or someone? How Strauss wasn't out first ball.... bad start, back to earth, this is England of course... And suddenly where's the batting order depth. Damn
keithd Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 if we make 150 i'll be suprised. i'll take anything over 240 right now...fat chance scrub that, i'll take anything over 200, but expect us to be skittled for under 140
the stain Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Bopara and Bell adjacent in the order; a recipe for collapse, I warned a thousand times. Why don't the selectors listen to me? If Colly had come in at 4 we'd have had a chance. Gah!
Pancake Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 if we make 150 i'll be suprised. i'll take anything over 240 right now...fat chance scrub that, i'll take anything over 200, but expect us to be skittled for under 140 Im going for 175.
the stain Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Bopara and Bell adjacent in the order; a recipe for collapse, I warned a thousand times. Why don't the selectors listen to me? If Colly had come in at 4 we'd have had a chance. Gah! And there it is, Collingwood gone too and all because the rot had set in. A child could see that two nervous, flimsy batsmen at 3 and 4 is a collapse waiting to happen.
Scummer Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Four different bowlers, all four batsmen out caught, by four different fielders.
Smirking_Saint Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 63 for f*cking 5 ???? I am glad i came back from work early to watch this ****
Pancake Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Holy crap. 65/5 is bloody useless no matter what pitch, what opposition or what level you are playing at.
Hatch Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Holy crap. 65/5 is bloody useless no matter what pitch, what opposition or what level you are playing at. and we won the toss and chose to bat
the stain Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Cook ****s up again... 63-5 All too predictable, BOrn. In the face of utter carnage, you've got specific criticism for Cook.
1576 Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Why is it that professional sportsmen always look like they don't give a **** when they seriously **** up. Some lovely shots of the England dressing room having a good old laugh and joke.
Ludwig Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 All too predictable, BOrn. In the face of utter carnage, you've got specific criticism for Cook. That's because he's awful. Gets in and does nothing.
Appy Posted 7 August, 2009 Author Posted 7 August, 2009 That's because he's awful. Gets in and does nothing. Like the whole team? Who has scored the most this innings?
Ludwig Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Cook. That's just a sad indictment upon the day's play, if Cook has been top scorer.
TopGun Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Just shocking. No back bone from the usual suspects and none from the slightly mentally stronger either. I have an Aussie client at Headingly today. I'm running an event for him on Monday so at least he'll be in a good mood!
bungle Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 I see we have reached the decisive day of the Ashes today. England have thrown it all away.
the stain Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Cook. That's just a sad indictment upon the day's play' date=' if Cook has been top scorer.[/quote'] Ah, that's why it's his fault...
Redbul Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Wonder what the odds are on 20 wickets falling in the first day of an Ashes test?
Smirking_Saint Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 f*cking hell, this is a joke, duck duck duck duck.
Saint Keith Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 our batting line up has finally been exposed for what it is, without kp to shore it up. just lucky it took the aussies 4 games to work it out
JustMike Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 oh my god! the worst i have seen in ages from us. some good bowling too bu christ we were all ****
bungle Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Got to get them out for no more than 220, and hope we can get 400 in 2nd innings. It's not impossible, we've all seen it happen, but anything more than 300 from Aus and it will be incredibly difficult!
Hatch Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Good job Prior is playing and didn't get injured in the warm up or anything
1576 Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Watch them score 200+ in the rest of the day. Could be all over by Sunday afternoon.
JustMike Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 this really does expose how weak we are when the likes of KP and freddie arent in the team. We need to look beyond the select "pool" of players. Why wasnt Trott given a go in place of the out of form Bopara? Too weak in too many key places.
bungle Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Good to see the alpine-esque over-reactions setting in. We are 1-0 up in an Ashes series, and have had 1 very bad innings. But it doesn't mean we are sh*t, a f*cking disgrace, nor that we have lost the Ashes.
