Mark Mywords Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Thought he was a birmingham? Who were CCC last season, still gotta be better than what we have. Anyone know how tall he is? 6' 3" and will be 34 on the 30th August, so 6" taller and 2 years younger than Chris Perry!
NickG Posted 3 August, 2009 Author Posted 3 August, 2009 6' 3" and will be 34 on the 30th August, so 6" taller and 2 years younger than Chris Perry! how tall is he now?
RinNY Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 How can Charlton afford Dailly's wages, I thought they were skint? I seem to remember Dailly's wages were relatively massive when he was on loan to us a couple of years ago. Why do you suppose Dailly's wages a couple of years ago are relevant? A hint for you: when you're out of work, your wages are nil, zero, nada. Doesn't matter what you used to get paid; what matters it what people are willing to pay you now. Charlton can afford him, because he's not in a position to make wage "demands": since he's out of contract, he takes what he can get or just retires. Since he wants to keep playing, he takes what he can get, and evidently Charlton's was his best or only offer. See how that works? You can apply the same principle to out of contract players saints might be interested in ...
Smirking_Saint Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Would be a good signing at this level, can't believe people are talking about him being clumsy with bambi lancashire at the back.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Would be a good signing at this level, can't believe people are talking about him being clumsy with bambi lancashire at the back. +1. I wonder why do people continue to be so pessimistic too, you're completely right Smirking_Saint, he would be a great signing.
saint_stevo Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 put a 90kg backpack on Jaidi and give Lancashire a 50m headstart and Jaidi would still win a 100m race
Crab Lungs Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 http://www.o2.co.uk/explore/tariffs/boltons/paygoboltons He isnt Ollie Lancashire, which is a good thing. Lol... I watched that 3rd QPR goal... OMG, I almost cried with laughter with his attempted 'tackles'
Tac-tics Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Definitely would be worth adding to the back four. We have been crying out for a big physical presence in that back four season after season. And he is a big bloody beefcake!
SFC Forever Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 He could be a good signing if fit. We need someone that come in and start straight away. I would expect us to find another forward as well by the weekend but again will he be fit to step straight into our team?
L1Minus10 Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 He's a brick sh1thouse, as wide as he is tall. Would be a great signing. He stands in front of the opposition keepers for free kicks and blots out the sun.
shurlock Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Exactly what we need - he's been a colossus for the brum whenever we've played them - no doubt was a key reason why last year they had the stingiest defense in the championship.
Saint_clark Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 He's a brick sh1thouse, as wide as he is tall. Would be a great signing. He stands in front of the opposition keepers for free kicks and blots out the sun. I don't remember that, he never looked that big to me, just tall.
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Didnt he score one against us last season. I remember listening to Radio Sol, and they had him as the MOM
shurlock Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Didnt he score one against us last season. I remember listening to Radio Sol, and they had him as the MOM Not last season, though he did collide for a header with team mate Lee Carsley who as a result required a load of stitches in the head and bandaging up. I remember he got two goals against us in the 2006/7 season (including one in that epic 4-3 win for us at SMS). Don't know which feat is more impressive
Vic Mackey Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 He's had a medical and is close to signing according to the Echo this morning.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4526966.Jaidi_close_to_signing_for_Saints/
shurlock Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4526966.Jaidi_close_to_signing_for_Saints/ Is that Chris Iwelumo in the photo - christ, he's a big motherf**ka! An excellent signing if it goes through. At the same time, will we have enough pace at the back? Perry's intelligent positional play means he's usually able to make up a few yards - I guess the same applies with Murty at RB but still we might be a tad exposed....
saint_bert Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Seems AP is building from the back!! Very wise move IMO would love a decent striker by Saturday just to top it off
thorpie the sinner Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Is that Chris Iwelumo in the photo - christ, he's a big motherf**ka! An excellent signing if it goes through. I think there is a lot to be said about positioning and defending set pieces! Goods signing if it happens
thorpie the sinner Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 sounds like its close Nick, any strikers on the radar?
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Incredibly clumsy, slow and really quite poor. Good in the air though. He sounds perfect for League 1 then.
sussexsaint Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Perfect if he's had his medical its in the bag From the looks of that Echo photo he will actually BE our back 4 - how christing big is he!!
NickG Posted 4 August, 2009 Author Posted 4 August, 2009 Nick, any strikers on the radar? I think the negativity on here has been ridiculous and think at the moment, from what I hear owner, board and manager have not put a foot wrong. Problem with strikers is Saga and Rasiak both saying they want to go, but will stay if they don't get right offer - so what do you do?
Bakovnetski Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 This looks like a sensible move. In this league, and the one above, we will need big CBs to counteract the lumping CFs. They need to be fit and injury-free too. Shame we didn't realise this last year
farawaysaint Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Average age of our back line this year should be interesting Davis, Murty Thomas and Perry, (ok Harding's a bit younger.)
Give it to Ron Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Incredibly clumsy, slow and really quite poor. Good in the air though. Well we tried to get Rio but he said he wouldn't want to join a club with such realistic fans!!!
Give it to Ron Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Average age of our back line this year should be interesting Davis, Murty Thomas and Perry, (ok Harding's a bit younger.) Well we tried the kindergarten route last year and look how far that got us!
dronskisaint Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Why are we talking to Notlob? The palindrome of Ipswich is not.....!
derry Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 I think the negativity on here has been ridiculous and think at the moment, from what I hear owner, board and manager have not put a foot wrong. Problem with strikers is Saga and Rasiak both saying they want to go, but will stay if they don't get right offer - so what do you do? With Raziak and Saganowski there are problems which may well see them staying. Firstly we want a fee and secondly their high wages will stop them getting a CCC club unless they take a cut, thirdly we can afford them and presumably won't let them go on the cheap. The fourth option could be a loan but again a fee would be required. Having said that a final option could be a player exchange but getting them to play in the third tier could be a problem. If they stay we could benefit, because they have to perform to keep themselves in with any chance of a recall to the Polish squad and it is the world cup in June. I think there is a decent chance they will both be here unless a club pays out silly money.
sussexsaint Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Problem with strikers is Saga and Rasiak both saying they want to go, but will stay if they don't get right offer - so what do you do? Exactly , at the moment everyone is banging on about gettinga striler in before the weekend but we have 2 overpaid ones who aren't interested here already - how long are their contracts for does anyone know?
SaintRichmond Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 I think the negativity on here has been ridiculous and think at the moment, from what I hear owner, board and manager have not put a foot wrong. Problem with strikers is Saga and Rasiak both saying they want to go, but will stay if they don't get right offer - so what do you do? Yes, but what they DON'T say is that if they do not get "the right offer", they WON'T give 100% to The Cause ..... Rasiak is lazy at the best of times ....... He'll be staic if he's just "turning out" for us because nobody wants to buy him
West End Saint Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 I will be a happy man if we get him just the sort of physical lump we have been missing when ever I have seen him play I have been impressed come AP make it happen if we can get a goal scoring big lump up front and someone else with a bit of pace we are on the right track UTS
david in sweden Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 He's a big mutha, no two ways about it. Exactly what we need, good at set-pieces at both ends of the pitch. Thr right sort of CH (McGrath, Ruddock, Watson, Richards, Svensson) can frighten the average striker with an angry grimace ...and a tough shoulder ! SIGN HIM UP NOW, AP!
david in sweden Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Exactly , at the moment everyone is banging on about gettinga striler in before the weekend but we have 2 overpaid ones who aren't interested here already - how long are their contracts for does anyone know? As long as he has replacements lined up, he can sell them now and get some spending money back ASAP. Their salaries alone would cover a few costs.
Chez Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 My best mate is a Brum season ticket holder and he says about Jardi last season: "overall he was awesome. Can play at championship level still although not if he has to run. He struggled a little in the middle of the season, but was immense in the run in. He would be great for you. He's a captainesc figure and of course he's massive". If its a choice between a slow 5 feet nothing Perry and a slow 6 feet 3 Jardi there is no choice.
labibs Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 I'd be very, very happy with this. Big, strong centre back, with vast experience. Should be able to stand up to pressure and not wilt at set pieces. A bit of a coup for this level. Good work AP, if this comes off
dubai_phil Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Michael Bolton stood on my bread roll at a corporate dinner thing while singing that big hit of his couple of years back

dubai_phil Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Oops sorry, jet lag, thought this was a thread about pre-match entertainment, Bolton would have been a big improvement on Osman, for about 5 minutes. Jaidi - big lump CB, bring him on
Give it to Ron Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 If its a choice between a slow 5 feet nothing Perry and a slow 6 feet 3 Jardi there is no choice. If its a choice between a young and quick Lancashire or a slow massive Jaidi there is no choice either ;-) sign him now!
jjsaint Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Jaidi is a player that will do very well at this level. Fingers crossed.
S-Clarke Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Sounds like it's progressing well!! AP looks like he wants to fill the team with vocal experienced leaders - we'll be fine if he does this. (Murty and Jhadi is an awesome start)
