MongoNeil Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 ahh your so brainy aint you ill just listen to southampton tunes wen we have bad support yh? Someone buy this kid a keyboard with punctuation on it please....
dickyhale Posted 3 August, 2009 Author Posted 3 August, 2009 Ok then why don't you buy me one? Thank-you very much.
MongoNeil Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 That's a hale of a dicky idea. *sorry* Anyone who wants a drummer clearly wasn't at the Blackpool home game a couple of seasons back. The atmosphere was so sh*t. Nobody singing because they were just drowned out by continuous drumming. Ended up with one of the stewards decking the guy with the drum IIRC. Yep I remember that, the weather didn't help the atmosphere though, or the fact our stand was just a bunch of scaffolding!
dickyhale Posted 3 August, 2009 Author Posted 3 August, 2009 Yep I remember that, the weather didn't help the atmosphere though, or the fact our stand was just a bunch of scaffolding! so im guessing you got wet. and try to keep this on topic
Give it to Ron Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 so im guessing you got wet. and try to keep this on topic The topic being one person that cannot spell or have a clue about punctuation wants a drum......virtually everyone else thinks its a stupid idea.
Wade Garrett Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 I reckon the drummer from Coldplay would do it. Well he would if he really loved Saints.
Gingeletiss Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 so im guessing you got wet. and try to keep this on topic What topic..............you and a bunch of under 16's want Drums at a football match, those with some gray matter don't. They want to watch the game, without some idiots giving it large on a bl**dy drum. Do a straw poll of other clubs, I think you'll find that most fans hate the bl**dy things.
dickyhale Posted 3 August, 2009 Author Posted 3 August, 2009 The topic being one person that cannot spell or have a clue about punctuation wants a drum......virtually everyone else thinks its a stupid idea. Ok. How do I delete this post? I don't want it up anymore.
Give it to Ron Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Ok. How do I delete this post? I don't want it up anymore. Don't be a big girls blouse, you voiced your ideas and it wasn't popular...we have all been there.
Hatch Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 dickyhale, I think it's a great idea. Stick to your guns.
londonsaint1604 Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Yep I remember that, the weather didn't help the atmosphere though, or the fact our stand was just a bunch of scaffolding! Gillingham's away end is just scaffolding as well.
mcjwills Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 i agree with banging the panels should be banned. but we need drummers. If I get a drummer close to me I'll stick his drumsticks and the drum sideways where the sun does not shine. so my answer is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Whitey Grandad Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Please god, no. Those wooden rattle thingies were bad enugh.
Whitey Grandad Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 --- and I once sat just in front of someone with an airhorn at a match. Why oh why oh why?
Denzil Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 at saint marys couldnt we have 2 or 4 drummers. like 1 from each stand or if were going to only open up 2 stands. Go and watch Pompey if you want to listen to a load of mincers with musical instruments.
Stuartinoz Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 God awful idea! I've paid good money to stand (sit) in the Northam for 23 games of dinging and chanting. I'd rather stand in Nottarf Krap next to John PFC with all his books from his bookshop than listen to some tw*t with a drum! Let's make an atmosphere the old fashioned way! And those who expect half baked atmosphere....the Northam is pretty much sold out with ST's so each game I expect a damn good effort, IF NOT...I'll be trying my damned hardest to create a better atmosphere on my own if need be. You can shove your drumsticks up yer a*se.... Rant over.

Stuartinoz Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Didn't think they were that bad, was quite funny watching them work aisle by aisle toward the back then all of a sudden 'stand up if you love the saints stand up if you love the saints' then watch them go back to aisle A and start all over again
Griffo Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Didn't think they were that bad, was quite funny watching them work aisle by aisle toward the back then all of a sudden 'stand up if you love the saints stand up if you love the saints' then watch them go back to aisle A and start all over again But people were sitting down when asked though, at one point they managed to get about 3/4's of the stand upwards sitting.
Block 5 Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Men beat drums. That's the way of the world. Men were beating drums before language existed. It's a primal thing, and is very closely linked to the tribal feeling you get at football. So yes...... drums please! And dickyhale........ stick to your guns....... most of the people disagreeing with you are thermos carrying, blanket snuggling old timers who will probably wee themselves if there is a sudden bang or similar loud noise.
VectisSaint Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Would you like to stand next to a drummer for 23 games? I certainly wouldn't and see no reason why someone that has paid for a ticket should have to endure it. I used to stand in front of a drummer at gigs, but then being over 50 AND a bass player, I think there have been enough insults on this thread already. A drummer is someone who likes to hang around with musicians Actually I have no problems with the idea of a drummer to help the atmosphere. Not an American idea, that would be playing an organ when the ball goes out of play.
Junction 9 Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Lets have someone blowing a little trumpet while we're at it.
Gingeletiss Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Lets have someone blowing a little trumpet while we're at it. There's plenty of them on here.......................
brmbrm Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 This is a totally $h!t3 idea, dickyeyboy. You bring your drum i will do my best to shove it up your ar$e. Plus I am over 50 but I am capable of making my share of noise, thank you very much. You bang yer ferkin drum next to me and i will stick yer ferkon drumsticks where the sun won't ever shine. FFS. I blame the teachers. And the parents.
brmbrm Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Actually, maybe we could make everyone appy: drums, bit only in the family centre.
alehouseboys Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 ...well...there may be some merit in this idea if young Dicky takes his drum in the Chapel, it may just wake 'em all up down there! ...and Dicky, if you get your dad to go with ya you'll get in for free! Simples.

Gingeletiss Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Actually, maybe we could make everyone appy: drums, bit only in the family centre. We could do with a kiddie corner on here.........then all the yoof could post their childish crap, and have a 'reet good larf' together, and let the oldies discuss things in peace.................all IMHO of course;)

Danny R Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 I appreciate your sentiments. However, we are neither Northern nor Dutch. Therefore, a NO.

benjii Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 at saint marys couldnt we have 2 or 4 drummers. like 1 from each stand or if were going to only open up 2 stands. No. Sod off.
dickyhale Posted 3 August, 2009 Author Posted 3 August, 2009 I am in favour of flares and firecrackers though. aint we all!? lol. anygame. allgame.
hamster Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 --- and I once sat just in front of someone with an airhorn at a match. Why oh why oh why? Was that in the Itchen at the Southend game? was a lor of them that day, I liked it a t first as I was so excited about getting into the play-orfs, after about 5 seconds of it I changed my opinion. We need some of these mf's: Seriously though, I would like to see the return of The Albion Band.
hamster Posted 4 August, 2009 Posted 4 August, 2009 Dicky, is this a serious suggestion or have some on here been snared? If it is then what are you bassing your idea on nipper and do you have any others to bring to the tabla? Oil put the kettle on while I await your reply, or maybe I should just beat it. xx's hamster
dickyhale Posted 4 August, 2009 Author Posted 4 August, 2009 Note all people who replies after this. I don't want these drums. I just wanted to see what all you thought about it. Stop spamming me with bad comments. All you need is a yes or no awnsers and a sentence to two about it. Thank-you.
