No no no no no no no and no

Drums are for small time morons who can;t make an atmosphere themselves, its second only in the ****ish stakes to music after goals.

it sounds good though. get the fans going more. ive seen many people at away games not singing. and if we hav the drums we can get the tunes acroos the ground more eg. chaple.

Yeah - Northam would love to have a couple of drummers at the back of the stand. Would be nice for the rest of the stadium.... (;

some one actualy understands what i want! with all these other people just dont want it. i bet there all like 50 year olds. to much noise.. ;)

how do you know if there is a drummer at the door? the knocking gets faster

whats the difference between a drummer and a drum machine? you only have to punch the information into a drum machine once

how do you know if a drummer's stool is level? he dribbles out the middle of his mouth

and slightly off the topic...

how many bass players does it take to change a lightbulb? one, but he'll need a guitarist to tell him where to put his fingers

We all know exactly what you want.......from a very loud singing 50 year old who was cheering loudly when you were in nappies without the need of a drum!

Yep.........50 year olds that use caps..........so if we're guessing, you're 13...14, I suspect around that age.

ps...if you want a loud ferking noise, use an i pod whilst you watch:rolleyes:

NO. No. No. And more NO.

When did football become so pathetic that we couldn't make a proper atmosphere ourselves? And anyone who hits the panels at the top of the stand should be banned as well.

Yeah right - I'm over 50, you get the drummer and I'll play fukkin' lead guitar for you too - then we'll see how many decibels you can hack!!

I would like to think that we can generate enough atmosphere and noise at SMS without the need for glorified cheeleaders bashin' drums. ;)

Drums just remind me of those morons at sheff wednesday.

clackers were bad enough when we were kids, but drums should never be accepted.

at saint marys couldnt we have 2 or 4 drummers. like 1 from each stand or if were going to only open up 2 stands.

Since when are only 2 stands going to be opened?!?! Have I missed something?

we'll be lucky if we have enough fans for 1 stand next season

See the thread 'Sold over 10,000 and still rising' http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsD...736877,00.html

I do believe we have so far sold 10,600 Season Tickets, and it's still rising according to the OS.

That is a 1/3 of the stadium capacity sold as Season Tickets, don't doubt our support.

Oh, and that video, only about 3 people are singing, and the drummer and the matey holding the drum aren't even watching the match!! I go to the football to watch football! Not for me. No thanks. The people who bang on the plastic backing boards that surround the top of the stadium is fine, but drums in addition to that would get annoying in my opinion.

I think a drum would be good - listening to our pathetic attempts at a slow OWTSGMI makes me cringe. Hoping atmosphere will be better this season, last year (at times) it was shocking - away games excluded

I quite like the slow version of OWTS, it is very atmospheric.

And did you go to Sheffield Wednesday away last season? Very poor atmosphere I have to say, only about 1/5 of our fans made an effort to sing, and they were all clumped over to one side of the stand. I have never felt myself thinking "This is a shocking atmosphere" whilst stood in the Northam to be honest.

The last time I checked you're not allowed to bang the panels anyway. Didn't they change them at one point?

And why do we need a drummer?

Fans with drummers (Blackpool, Blackburn etc) have an annoying atmosphere and a crap one.

I should have excluded the Northam from my lack of atmosphere post too.

Don't the guys who bang on the wall count as drummers - there's plenty of them in SMS (especially in the Northam) already!

OK, but they are in theory attempting to damage Markus' property, which will not go down well with the Softies. Bring in some professional instruments - much more in keeping with our new regime. ;)

I can only hope that this is a wind up. Try sitting next to me banging a drum and you'll soon find that your drumsticks are firmly implanted where the sun don't shine :smt093 (Admittedly it would mean you are in my house in Dubai banging the drum so I'd be fully justified :D)

And as for the video clip, if you ever wanted to show just why we shouldn't have drums at games (anywhere not just SMS) then that was perfect. Surely one of the most cringeworthy clips of fans I've ever seen.

Whilst you're banging away on your drum, why not get your own song going.. 'we're the barmy scummer drummer bummers army'

If this isn't a wind up fred, you need to have a word with yourself and maybe give yourself a damn good kicking.

Yeah get some drummers and whilst you're at it why not get a load of people to blow those 'trumpet things' like they do in South Africa (for those that didn't see any of the Confed Cup from there recently then wait til the World Cup - you will have a treat!)

They really add to the atmosphere I think. Especially because they just blow them constantly whatever is actually going on on the pitch. It's good as well because it stops you from hearing any nasty chants that may be getting sung - all you hear is the load hum of the 'trumpet things'.

So how about starting with one drum and 10 trumpets per block? This can obviously be increased as the season goes on. As the word goes round the attendances will increase cos every drummer & trumpeter in the area will turn up because they have at last found somewhere to practice without annoying the neighbours. £20 to practice for a couple of hours is a good deal. They'll love it!!!

I think we're onto something here - bring it on :-)

How would a drum improve the slow version of OWTS?

Why do people keep banging on about drums ?

I suppose it's just a cymbal of our times !!

Boom, boom !!

Yes, I know it was pathetic !

That's a hale of a dicky idea. *sorry*

Anyone who wants a drummer clearly wasn't at the Blackpool home game a couple of seasons back. The atmosphere was so sh*t. Nobody singing because they were just drowned out by continuous drumming. Ended up with one of the stewards decking the guy with the drum IIRC.
