Doesn't mean he's not available on a free transfer? As he doesn't get a game for BC, they're likely to want his wages removed.

Indeed. Wonder if we can get them to pay some of his wages.

Obviously not in Le Tissier's class but finally someone who may do the number 7 shirt justice. Sign him up I say.

If we can also get a quick striker to play up top with him then I think we will have the makings of a very nice strike force.

he joined leeds last year for a month in the january transfer window. if he is good enough for them, he must be worth a shot for us.

Proven goalscorer? Something we've been lacking really... Could be one of the last pieces of our league 1 jigsaw??

"Lee is a proven goalscorer," said the boss. "He brings something a bit different, and he has a great track record.

He would be good for this league, I reckon he could score 20 goals + for us.

Bristol City paid £1 million (I believe) so it seems unlikely that they would let him go for free before his contract expires. However, he was on loan at Leeds this year so he's familiar with lge 1 - I wonder if this might be the first player to be bought under the new regime??

Maybe even some sort of trade with one of our star players...Razza, Saga or Pulis:rolleyes:

He's so over rated its unbelievable.

Not say he wouldn't be a bad signing but other than Swansea, years ago, he's been shocking.

Even at Swansea he was over rated because Soccer AM highlighted some awesome tricks he did.

Could be alright, but he won't be the player everyone thinks he will be. He certainly doesn't score alot of goals.

Over weight and a total lack of fitness is a major concern..Get himself FIT..maybe. ...Like Skacel and several other Saints players.....MLT could carry the extra pudding with his sublime skills......There must be some forgotten/missed stars out there somewhere.

Trundle in ... OK .... but NOT if it means we lose either Rasiak or Saga ....

That would NOT be a good trade off IMHO

You are right.....just thoughts on what Saints might be up to...As I state...Mr Trundle is about stone and half overweight...Not even Pulis? You sure?

Watched him last season against our reserves for Bristol.....was superb and destroyed our defence...not thats hard mind.

Him and Brooker were the ideal pairing but agree with the other poster we need pace!

Would be a great signing. A player with a bit of skill, eye for goal, good experience and someone who builds good rapport with his fans. I'd be up for that.

Ahhhh another journeyman - been there, seen it, dunit - that's (largely) how we got here, so unlikely to be the answer to our problems.

Posted

I've always liked Trundle but is he as good as he was and would he accept a realistic wage?

If the answers are yes then at 32/33 he could still do a good job for us for a year or two.

As the poster was unsure about his source its unlikely to be true as well ;-)

You guys are expecting f*cking miracles.

There are 50 teams in England players will choose to play for ahead of us. If AP believes he can bring the best out of someone who looks like there best days are behind them then why not show a little faith

I LIKE DVD's

****Pedant alert****

I LOVE DVDs....

I think he could do a job for us. We need to get people in and get them in fast. If AP thinks he can motivate him to score for us then bring him in.

Of course, this is all hypothetical at the moment....

I agree - whoever comes in, is likely to be better than we already have. (Lets hope so anyway)

...is apparently going to be brought in. Not sure how reliable my source is, he's never told me any gossip before, but apparently he's available on a free. I think he'd be a pretty good signing. Can definitely do a job, that's for sure.

I think your source's logic is something like:-

- Trundle is likely to be moving clubs

- Saints need some more players

Therefore he is moving to Saints.

In reality it's been fairly well commented in the press that he wants to go back to Swansea.
