Sadly, until we strengthen at the back we are going to continue to leak goals.

Saints 1-2 Millwall

And we will go on losing until we have strengthened with four tough, tall players.

(Not happy)

Millwall looked a good side in the play off semi final with lots of pace & power but at the start of the season anything can happen you would have to say on current squads they are favourites but who knows we might get 2 or 3 players in I think I would settle for a draw a win would be great with the 10 point deduction we could really do with a good start I am looking forward to it

if we win

At the start of the league season proper, i.e. 3pm on the first Saturday, we would only have a 7 point deficit (and better goal difference) than every club.

Looking ahead to a long season, that suddenly wouldn't appear so daunting as we try to attract other players.

(I know it will only be short lived!)

No change there then ;)

one thing with us - never predictable!

Still never won a correct score prediction with bookies for saints in years!

It's a reasonable point and it won't be short lived on Millwall and possibly 5 or 6 other teams, who will lose their first fixture. In addition, with respect to another 6/8 teams that draw, we will be back to minus 8. Another point going forward is the goal difference thing. If we manage to claw back the minus 10, then we should have a better goal difference than the teams we finish level with, which could have a bearing on where we ultimately finish.

I Am Away On Holiday For This Game And I Can't Make It Although I Will No Doubt Find Somewhere To Watch It But If Not Then I'm Sure That People Will Text Me The Score Though :p :)!

Anyways I Reckon That Due To This Game Being On Sky I Think We Will Sneak This One And Win 2-1 I Hope But We Will See!

watched them once last year, my mate said they won most of their games in the last 10 mins... they used to have a big defender from liverpool.. whitingham??? was a rock in their defence.. thrown a strop now from what i can gather...

Quality use of capital letters right there.

Saints 2-1 by the way.

Frustrating start. I hate to be negative, but I think we will lose 0-1.

I think that of any season, this is the most important we have ever had in terms of getting a good start. We need to be in positives as quick as we can. Heart is desperate for a win to get me positive once again!!!

A solid 3-0 win for us. Hopefully a fast and furious, blood and guts Div 3 brawl. We are gonna need some fighters in this league.

Stand up and be counted Saints, on the pitch and on the terraces, we need to announce our arrival on day 1.

I cannot wait.

My heart says 2-0 saints, with the new manager, new owner, couple of new players, Millwall's lack of defence and home advantage all being on our side.

My head is still undecided, with Millwall's good end to last season, our injuries and lack of power and strength, the sky curse and the fact that we haven't won our first home game for years all casting doubts.

I think I will settle for a draw.
