Millwall predictions.

We'll lose and end up on -13 at close of play.

It's not possible for the other 23 teams to win on the first day :) We won't be more than 10 points back of safety unless there's a glut of draws. I'm going for an 2-2 considering we don't have any chance of stopping Millwall from scoring.

1-1 although it won't surprise me if Millwall nick it, they are a force in this division, and we are (at present) much weaker than we were last year.

Have patience though, once AP has the right players in the right places, we will start flying.

0-2 unless something changes for the better this week.

Although I did have a strange dream that we beat millwall 2-0 and the jam got back together..........both very unlikely,in fact more likely that the jam will reform.:-)

0-2 is exactly how I call it as well bearing in mind what we have seen so far in the build up. We are not ready; even if AP manages to bring in "two new faces this week" how on earth can anybody expect them to blend in by Saturday. Even Ronaldo & Beckham wouldn't alter the outcome that much

Our lads were cream crackered yesterday 'cos the poor souls had to work too hard in training last week... effing dingbats, they're not even fit yet. I can see us being on -10 for quite some time and if we get turned over three times in the first week, boy we are going to struggle all the way. Mid table is where we are heading if this happens

Tough opening game. It will take some time for the team to gell, especially if a couple of new players come in. Milwall are one of the btter sides in this division - although they are probably the weakest side we have started a season against in 20+ years. I'd be happy with a point - and a good performance from Lallana, who might (just might) be our key man this season.

Meh

Is it on Telly?

If so I'll be in the pub watching the game without Eric (he got a sick note -he's coming over to catch swine flu) so we'll concede a goal within the time it takes me to say phew hopefully we won't concede a goal within the first oh bugger

If not then I reckon it will be 45 minutes of "oh, so nothing's changed then" as we naively play ourselves into a 0-2 half-time deficit

Then suddenly we'll remember that things HAVE changed and it will be emotive edge of the seat stuff and we'll come back to either 2-2 or a lucky deflection/dodgy ref decision will see it ending 2-3

C'mon gang, this is Saints, sure new era and all that but we're bound to have a reminder before we really move on!

I had a weird dream on Friday night - we beat Millwall 5-0.

Two things that were really strange:

1. I was under the East Stand at The Dell?

2. I didn't recognise any of the team!

The 3rd goal was surreal - Millwall couldn't clear their lines and a young centre forward hassled and robbed the defender - and stuck it in the back of the net. I say surreal because that's the sort of thing that catches us out!

If anyone can analyse this dream I would be very interested!

By the way I think 5-0 is a little optimistic...still might be worth a fiver!

We ALWAYS lose the first game of the season - FACT.

We ALWAYS lose when we're on Sky - FACT.

We haven't exactly set the world alight pre-season.......

Therefore I predict a Saints win 1-0!

(Though my head is really saying 2-0 to Millwall)

First game of the season/on SKY - the omens aren't good

Our defence is looking as ropey as the opener against Crystal Palace a couple of years ago, and we know what happened then.

An uphill struggle without some decent signings, i predict a defeat

2-1 Millwall (though i wish to god that i am proved wrong!)
