bjk Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Its going to be a tough start but i can see us getting a point. Saints 1 Millwall 1
Denzil Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Millwall will wipe the floor with us unless we get some new players in sharpish.
Robsk II Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Denzil will get nicked for punching a 15 year old.
lordswoodsaints Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 (edited) 0-2 unless something changes for the better this week. Although I did have a strange dream that we beat millwall 2-0 and the jam got back together..........both very unlikely,in fact more likely that the jam will reform.:-) Edited 2 August, 2009 by lordswoodsaints
greg_hill Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Millwall will wipe the floor with us unless we get some new players in sharpish. I think you forget that most of the other teams in L1 are as weak, or weaker than us. I call it 1 - 1
View From The Top Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Saints 2 Millwall and all the whingers 0
Verbal Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Saints 0 Millwall 1 Not you as well! It's like an episode of True Blood on here.
saint lard Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 1-0 Saints, Rasiak scoring from a set piece We will undoubtably concede from a set piece.
Gingeletiss Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 3-1 Saints.............get with the program of a new begining!!!
Window Cleaner Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 depends who's in our team. Saints will win 3-2 or 3-0.
RedArmy Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 They're struggling for fit/capable defenders, so we could be in luck for a good start to the season. 2-1 Saints.
sussexsaint Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Carnage! Agreed unless we pull some decent names out this week. It's going to take a while for the team to start to play as AP wants. However if we do lose I won't be too disheartened. At least it isn't blue square
Stepgar Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Concidering our opening day record I predict a loss 1 or 2 nil at best I can only see a 0-0. Would so love to be proven wrong. Whatever though I will be there beered up singing my heart out. Come on your reds!
sidthesquid Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 We never win our first home game - it's traditional. Since 1991 our record is P 18, W 2, D 6, L 10, so I'd be more than happy with a point
Window Cleaner Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 We never win our first home game - it's traditional. Since 1991 our record is P 18, W 2, D 6, L 10, so I'd be more than happy with a point but then again we've never been in League 1 before. We will win ,count on it, but we need to get a big GD going as well.
SNSUN Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 This is a new level for us, we don't know where our team will be at in 6 days, and we don't know much about the teams we'll play. So prediction is near impossible at this stage. Ask me on the day, but a confident 2-0 Saints will be nice.
Raven on the wing Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 There are alarming similarities to 2 seasons ago when we had nothing in the centre of our defence and lost to the long ball game of Palace 1-4. I hope and pray that we get players in for Saturday to change that !!
red&white56 Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 I think it will be a draw - we've a bad habit of not finishing games well. 2-2
Tac-tics Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 You can't really guess as this wont be our line up.
Matthew Le God Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 We never win our first game - it's traditional. Since 1991 our record is P 18, W 2, D 6, L 10, so I'd be more than happy with a point You make a statement that we never win our first game and then provide data to disprove it
thorpie the sinner Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 players playing for positions, looking to impress the manager when it matters, saints 2 Millwall 1
Trader Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 You make a statement that we never win our first game and then provide data to disprove it He said our first HOME game. I think our record for the first game is even worse - I can't remember when we won our first game. Saints 1 Millwall 2 But I hope I'm wrong!
Matthew Le God Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 (edited) He said our first HOME game. He then showed we had won 2 of them. Which makes a mockery of his first statement. Edited 2 August, 2009 by Matthew Le God
RedAndWhite91 Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Sorry sports fans but I am going with 2-1 Millwall. But I'd love to see my prediction proven wrong and for Saints to grab the 3 points. I'm excited now.
Under Weststand Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 We are notoriously slow starters and the team unless we get some new players in this week is not up to it. So whilst I hope for the best I think a draw is the best we will achieve 2-2.
brianoneils slidingtackle Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Saints 2 Millwall 1 . We need to start the campaign with a positive win...
Denzil Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Denzil will get nicked for punching a 15 year old. I didn't know you were 15, I thought you were younger.
red&white56 Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 He then showed we had won 2 of them. Which makes a mockery of his first statement. Maybe his sentence was poorly worded but you can't dispute that we do not have a good record of wins in our first home game - let's hope we can go against the historic trend.
Arizona Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 1 - 3 It will transpire that apparently Lancashire (amongst others) isn't good enough and we will concede sloppy goals.
MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 3-0 millwall from the gf's dad, and 4-1 saints from me
Matthew Le God Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Maybe his sentence was poorly worded but you can't dispute that we do not have a good record of wins in our first home game - let's hope we can go against the historic trend. Of course you can't go on on historic record. What relevance does the Southampton team of 1991, 1992, 1993, 1999, 2003, 2008 etc have on the Millwall match? None what so ever, they are completely different teams and it has no bearing on the 8th August 2009.
