Toadhall Saint Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Just been looking at a few of the other threads where there is talk of a top 2 (or not) finish for Saints. Personally I think its a bit to early to say who is going to finish where especially as I really have never followed the form of most L1 teams. So a genuine question - who's your money on to finish top 2.
CWD Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds will be there i reckon, but I couldnt name the other
Stu Man Do Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 I think potentially Norwich have made some good signings for this division and could do well if they all come together. Like CWD said Leeds look pretty likely to be there or there abouts along with a host of teams.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Norwich are buying well, I reckon they'll win it. Second is anyone's guess!
Badger Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Norwich and Leeds are the most obvious contenders as I see it. I also think Huddersfield will do well as they seem to have strengthened.
Rattlehead Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 We will walk this league. Who cares who finishes second?
equalizer Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Norwich and MK Dons I reckon but obviously can't rule out Leeds, just hope they stay down as long as possible!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds Norwich --------- Millwall Huddersfield MK Dons Southampton --------
Badger Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds Norwich --------- Millwall Huddersfield MK Dons Southampton -------- Good play-off semi then ?
NickG Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds Norwich Charlton MK Dons Huddersfield Brighton Colchester Southend then us Well thats how bookies see it fnishing!
Dalek2003 Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Norwich have bought very well. Good support and and a very good pre season = Champions Second Place ? MK Dons
RedAndWhite91 Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds Norwich Charlton MK Dons Huddersfield Brighton Colchester Southend then us Well thats how bookies see it fnishing! A few weeks back we were 4/1 at Ladbrokes to reach the play offs, I put a fiver on..
RedAndWhite91 Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 And on the same day P*mpey were at the same odds to get relegated.
egreog Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Who knows?....its a lottery......... just know it won't be Saints!!
Thedelldays Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 i see a few are tipping MK Dons..the club with a manager nearly all would not want at saints.. fickle
teamsaint Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 i see a few are tipping MK Dons..the club with a manager nearly all would not want at saints.. fickle people may not have chosen ince as a first choice, but he's walked into a stable, winning environment, at a club that is going places. A
dickyhale Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds 5/6 Norwich 9/4 Charlton 3 MK Dons 3 Huddersfield 3 Brighton 3 Coca Cola League 1 Promotion Betting Odds oh yes Saints are 13/2
thorpie the sinner Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 we definitely need 3/4 experienced signings otherwise mid table at very best!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds Norwich we will be lucky to stay up unless we buy some quality.
Bartosz Bialkowski Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 I really think Norwich and Leeds will be the teams to beat in this league
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Perhaps it will be the two teams with the most points...
eelpie Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds 5/6 Norwich 9/4 Charlton 3 MK Dons 3 Huddersfield 3 Brighton 3 Coca Cola League 1 Promotion Betting Odds oh yes Saints are 13/2 Not very generous for us, but the rest are about right.
hackedoff Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds Norwich we will be lucky to stay up unless we buy some quality. Agree this season is going to be a struggle with the useless team from last season, which has been further weakened.
hackedoff Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Champions-not us poor squad and -10 points 2nd-not us poor squad and -10 points play offs not us poor sqaud and -10 points top half not us poor squad and -10 points mid table not us poor squad and -10 points........................................
SNSUN Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Ask me again at the end of August when the transfer window shuts, but you'd be smart to put your money on anyone but Norwich. Whaley is a good buy, and I'll be roasted by my other half for not saying so.
chrisobee Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds and Norwich with Charlton, MK Dons, Brighton and Saints in the play offs.
wheels Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 (edited) Norwich and Leeds for me. Norwich have just beaten a full strength Wigan side 3-2 and have made some shrewd signings over the summer and will be the team to beat IMHO Edited 1 August, 2009 by wheels
NickG Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Leeds Norwich we will be lucky to stay up unless we buy some quality. we will not be in bottom half.
NickG Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Agree this season is going to be a struggle with the useless team from last season, which has been further weakened. not hugely different - depending on what happens with returned forwards. Pardew has said we will get CB in which was main problem. We now have full backs - we had none last season. We have better manager and set up. We don't have all off field problems. We are in lower league.

You can't be saying sensible things like that on here...!
Arizona Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Can't see beyond Leeds and Norwich really, although there are always likely to be surprises thrown in. This Saints squad wouldn't make the top half, even without the minus 10. It's not really anyones fault, nobody that's still attached to the club certainly, but we are nowhere near ready for a 46 game campaign yet. We need a lot of good players to come in very soon. Right now, I'd say mid-table. 12th maybe.
NickG Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 agree, mid table with current squad. Three signings and will be looking at top half - Jan transfer window for play off push
krissyboy31 Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Norwich and MK Dons. Leeds will blow it as usual!
Iowsaintsfan Posted 1 August, 2009 Posted 1 August, 2009 Norwich for me too then almost anyone from about 8 or 9 teams
Doctoroncall Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Norwich Huddersfield Leeds Millwall Saints Colchester
greg_hill Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 A lot of fans of other teams in the Facebook League One Group have predicted us to go up: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=21183686103&topic=9872
SNSUN Posted 2 August, 2009 Posted 2 August, 2009 Everyone seems so scared of Millwall on Saturday that they simply MUST be champions this season.
St Lightjaw Posted 3 August, 2009 Posted 3 August, 2009 Times have us down for 15th. Leeds and Norwich for 1st and 2nd. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6736752.ece
