There is a link that says "click here", but when I do my email (outlook) freezes up. Does anybody have a working link to this new player?

JonnyLove Posted 31 July, 2009 Posted 31 July, 2009 It is basically Saints TV under a different name it will show videos and possible match hilights after the game and provide audio commentary of the matches live. However so far I have tried to run some video and it has been dog slow so very annoyed. Will try again when at home and then deside if it is worth keeping for the season or not.

I didn't think I could listen to my 'other' club's matches via PremTV - you can only listen to those that your subscribed team are playing in... Another example, I've signed up to two sets of text alerts, one for Saints and one for the 'other' team... I'm in the wrong job.

Out of pocket as I can't access the new service - they are saying I need to re-subscribe to the new player. Very frustrating - anyone else having issues? I've received no official comunication other than the responses to my questions. I had to work out my own password so they know my account from the old saintsTV. Hmmm

I emailed them because I only signed up for Saints TV on the 28th July and was charged £3.99. They told me i needed to resubscribe, so I emailed them explaining i'd paid for a month already and that it was only on the 28th. Within 24 hours they'd replied saying they'd activated my new account until 5th Sept!!

jasonb Posted 5 August, 2009 Posted 5 August, 2009 hmm... the only way my subscription ended last season (£2.99 a month) was because my debit card expired and therefore they couldn't collect any more. the new player does look and feel a lot more professional - only time will tell how much I use it I guess. I did have a look through the account section and there does seem to be a section for "unsubscribing" - maybe you could end the contract that way? Oh and the new player will work just fine - I'm using Google Chrome without issue as it's all flash embedded I think.

Anyways, sold as video and audio streaming with highlights of the last 5 years matches (not sure this is a bonus?!)... reverts to £39 for the year after the first two months - not sure its gonna be worth that!

It worked out fine and I have until 15th Sept to decide whether I keep it going ! It looks to me as if it will be a better service than before but I will have to pay £34.99 instead of £20.00 per year ! It all really depends on the quality of match commentaries and goal highlights for me to continue but from what I've seen so far it should be ok !!

saintjay77 Posted 6 August, 2009 Posted 6 August, 2009 Ive just read on the saints player gumf that the comentary will be provided by radio solent. so they expect us to pay a quid more a month for a service that they are doing even less to provide? Its a bit off that we now have to pay for a bbc service that is already paid for in tv licence money to. And it winds me up that the paid comentary service is only aimed at people who live outside the area as inside you can just tune in your radio for the same comentary. If i lived in the area then id be going to matches, if i coudnt then i would have a choice of tuning in for free or paying for the saints player to get the same audio as for free. from here i only have one choice which kinda sucks. Think ill be gettin my old man to put the radio on and skype me every match. lol

Sorry for mentioning the obvious if you have all this sorted already. I understand the woes of trying to get this up and running - I had the same earlier on in the week. I sent a good few emails to the old service and the new and found both support very helpful - in the end. It now works seemlessly and I think its far better than SaintsTV. It looks more professional and works more professionally. I suggest those still having login problems try their existing SaintsTV login user name and the word "password" as the password. I think the new providers have reset the passwords. Mine worked this way. The other snag I had was my email address was my username - my email address is crazy long and wouldn't fit in the username login form... they changed this too so that it would. Just my experiences... maybe of use.

dubai_phil Posted 7 August, 2009 Posted 7 August, 2009 Right For those cheap buggers away from home that really only want the commentary then seems it's Radio Solent online. IF you have area restrictions OR like us suntanned/skibum types the solution is to get your mum or a mate to install Skype. Then on match day give them a call and get them to put their radio next to the PC mike. That way you can also set up conf calls to other sad skint mates and can txt away to your hearts content... Allegedly I'll still subscribe, but it is a useful trick, especially when the old Saintstv commentary used to crash, and can be a larf easing the pain to be on here and Skyping with your mates or telling your mum that YES you are eating plenty of vegetables and eating fruit and washing behind your ears while we are 3-0 down on a wet afternoon. IF you have a proxy server like we do then WHILE YOU ARE IN THE UK ERIC you can mail yourself the exe file to install Skype, once installed it works fine and by-passes the proxy
