So sad. A true gent & great ambassador to football. The nicest man in football, period.

RIP Sir Bobby. Sorely missed, never forgotten! (Met him at my first England international at Wembley when he came to sign our autographs!)

Truly Gutted

He was a Genuine Geordie, and loved Newcastle FC

I am so very very pleased that he made it to his "Tribute" Match at St James Park, where so many of "His" players paid tribute to him

He looked so very very frail, and I did make the comment to my wife that I did not think it long before we heard the worst

God Bless You Sir Bobby Robson ..... a Real Credit To Football

Condolences to his Family, and of course to all Geordies of Newcastle FC

Met Sir Bobby at my graduation in Ipswich, shock his hand and told him he was he greatest English manager ever. He shock his head and said "It's not about me today son it's about you". A true gent - RIP

I too had the pleasure of meeting the great man !

I honestly have not known anybody else with such a passion and love for the game, coupled with an insight and knowledge that puts many modern managers to shame.

A true gentlemen, a true football man, a true great !!

And the world of football is very much the poorer for his passing.

A great man, who had a great career, and through his achievements touched people in so many countries.

Football has lost one of it's greatest servants and will be the worse for it.

Ramsay won the world cup, but for me, Sir Bobby was the best manager England have had.

Whenever he spoke you could feel the warmth of his personality through his words, a true gent who will be sorely missed.

Condolences to his family and friends.

and an ex-Saint as well.

Sir Bobby signed for us an amateur in 1949 before following Bill Dodgin to Fulham the following year.

When I see some of the characters involved in football today and then I look at the integrity of people like Sir Bobby I am glad I "knew" the old days.
