unionhotel Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 Whilst I appreciate and acknowledge that, according to the many posts on here, that both Rasisk and Saganowski are keen to leave Southampton, is that the official line? Both, I understand, are still under contract and can't go anywhere unless SFC say so. Therefore, even though Stern John has left, is there any real sense of urgency and need to panic? Most posters have criticised existing players for lack of motivation, poor performances and lacklustre approaches to the game. Is it any wonder with recent events? Everyone seems to agree that Pardew can get the best out of players and it could be that we already have the makings of a good team. Proper management and coaching together with footballing nous could, quite possibly, be having a profound effect on our players already. Let's just give them all a chance and leave it to the professionals.

Stu Man Do Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 I see it much the same, I feel however that Saga can jog the **** on over his last time refusal to play and he looks out of shape in the pre season games Ive seen. I cant imagine his best effort is in it if he stays unfortunately. Rasiak on the other hand would, I'm sure still put the ball in the back of the net realising he can get a move in January when he's nearly out of contract and if he plays well. His wages were cited as the main reason Watford didnt move for him this summer.

To be honest when the poll was done we had no recognised full backs and one fit central defender! So to start in defence by building fromthe back was inevitable. We have always needed a goalscorer - that's been our problem for 2/3 seasons!

We desperately need a right and left midfielder a central defender and 2 strikers.

Attacking play and exciting strikers was the Saints style and what took us to the Premiership and Cup Finals. Yes, this must be rectified in AP's long term plan.

If Saga isn't bothered then I don't mind him going but Raz would be a big loss. If I was AP I'd be kissing his arse to stay.

They would be immense in this league, and finding players to replace them would be no small task. In Pardew we trust I guess, but I'd certainly like to see efforts made to make Rasiak feel this is his home!

Hopefully Pardew is well aware of this and is doing his utmost to sign a forward or two!

These two are still outside Swansea's max wage of 8k/wk. Far more likely Swans players may come the other way next week. 10 squad members to be culled next week. Mostly minor names, but possibly some first teamers as well - e.g. butler, bauza, monk.

If I was AP I'd be kissing his arse to stay. According to the Echo there is an offer for Rasiak, with AP saying the Club are currently deciding how to proceed. So perhaps it is the amount of Arse Kissing that is being worked on. With John having left against AP's expectation, maybe he is trying change Rasiak's mind, but it will take money money money to do that.
