Saintjersey Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 Anybody know the situation with the weather? I am unsure whether I should rush home to try and watch it on sky or not, if it is likely to be called off I will just stay at work.
keithd Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 just got the nod to sod off at 5, so wont miss any if its on if we get to finals day, its on my wedding anniversary. i've a feeling it'll be my last....
Lets B Avenue Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 Before we left for the game, a check on the Northants web showed it was raining at 2.00 and the forecast was for heavy rain at matchtime. We didnt go. If its on tomorrow, off we go again.
Saintjersey Posted 29 July, 2009 Author Posted 29 July, 2009 Hmmm not sounding promising then. There might be enough time for a 5 over thrash.
stevegrant Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 Met Office forecast says rain for most of the afternoon and evening. Looks fine for tomorrow though, so I'm expecting it to be played then. The Lancashire v Somerset game tonight will almost certainly go to a bowl-out, which is a shame.

If its on tomorrow, off we go again. Ditto, decided against it due to the forecast as I thought if it does go ahead at least I can watch it on Sky. Forecast looks much better for tomorrow so will definitely make the trip assuming it is rained off tonight. Good news that Harvey is out for them - he is their leading wicket taker, run scorer and has most catches for them in T20 this season! Surely they can't have a 5 over thrash tonight if there's a reserve day?

The Lancashire v Somerset game tonight will almost certainly go to a bowl-out, which is a shame. Lancs and Somerset have come to a special agreement with the ECB to have one final try tomorrow (Thursday) between 11am and 2.45pm. If it is not possible during that time then there will be a bowl-out.
NI76 Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 Abandoned already, must be bad up there. Good decision to stay at home! Bring it on tomorrow.
Saintjersey Posted 29 July, 2009 Author Posted 29 July, 2009 Ah dammit, oh well hopefully it will be fine tomorrow.
Leicestersaint Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 Postponed until tomorrow. It is tipping it down in leicester. What a summer!

Lets B Avenue Posted 29 July, 2009 Posted 29 July, 2009 2 spare tickets tomorrow. I'm driving, leaving Southampton around 2. anyone wanna come?
Saintjersey Posted 30 July, 2009 Author Posted 30 July, 2009 Is this game going to be on sky again? Also what are the chances of play occurring today?
chrisobee Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 Is this game going to be on sky again? Also what are the chances of play occurring today? Doubt it as they are covering the Test match of course.
stevegrant Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 Chances of play are good - the forecast is for a bit of rain early afternoon but then sunny spells later and into the evening.
stevegrant Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 Oh, and if we win tonight, we'll play Sussex in the semi-final
Saintjersey Posted 30 July, 2009 Author Posted 30 July, 2009 1.15pm bowl-out indoors at Old Trafford. Lol would be interesting to watch.
Hatch Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 1.15pm bowl-out indoors at Old Trafford. Lancs home advantage should see them through.
Leicestersaint Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 It's pouring down in Leicester complete with large hailstones that could do a fielding side a bit of damage.
bungle Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 I bet Sajid Mahmood missed. He didn't bowl any. Cheetham, Laxman, Parry and Chilton for Lancs. Cheetham hit with his first ball, and the 9 after that were missed.
Saintjersey Posted 30 July, 2009 Author Posted 30 July, 2009 Hampshire have this game in the bag already.
Give it to Ron Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 Hampshire have this game in the bag already. Thats the equivalant of the easy easy chant v Leeds ;-)
Saintjersey Posted 30 July, 2009 Author Posted 30 July, 2009 Thats the equivalant of the easy easy chant v Leeds ;-) Haha, well Northants are 82-6 off 15 overs, they won't get more than 110 now. Awesome bowling performance by Hampshire.
Evil Monkey Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 Monty is playing! I hope Lumb and Adams knock him all over the place
Saintjersey Posted 30 July, 2009 Author Posted 30 July, 2009 Monty is playing! I hope Lumb and Adams knock him all over the place It will be over before he bowls
John B Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 Haha, well Northants are 82-6 off 15 overs, they won't get more than 110 now. Awesome bowling performance by Hampshire. 120 may be a good score we will have to wait and see
Saintjersey Posted 30 July, 2009 Author Posted 30 July, 2009 120 may be a good score we will have to wait and see Yes I underestimated the 110 The thing is Northants have choked like they always do at this stage, if this was the group stages it would be a much closer match.
John B Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 Yes I underestimated the 110 The thing is Northants have choked like they always do at this stage, if this was the group stages it would be a much closer match. Could be 135
John B Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 134-6 off the 20 overs. Not a bad recovery really Anybody's game
Saintjersey Posted 30 July, 2009 Author Posted 30 July, 2009 Not a bad recovery really Anybody's game Andrew Hall saved Northants, but I still reckon this will be a 6 wicket win. Lowest score of their tournament for Northants.
John B Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 Andrew Hall saved Northants, but I still reckon this will be a 6 wicket win. Lowest score of their tournament for Northants. Hampshire have a few less than that The Twenty20 Cup Hampshire: 131-7 (20.0 overs) Kent: 132-3 (17.5 overs) Kent beat Hampshire by 7 wickets The Twenty20 Cup Sussex: 128-2 (17.1 overs) Hampshire: 122-7 (20.0 overs) Sussex beat Hampshire by 8 wickets
Saintjersey Posted 30 July, 2009 Author Posted 30 July, 2009 Lumb out Plenty of time though to score the runs.
John B Posted 30 July, 2009 Posted 30 July, 2009 Plenty of time though to score the runs. Not so sure Carberry out
