I know some people on here have said they're disapointed by the sales but I think its pretty good considering the league were in and the very short timescale the club have had since the new owners have come in.

15k for saturday? shameful

Why? Its Monday isn't it?

The start of school summer holidays when a number of fans will be away.

No matter how safe football is there are a few put off from taking kids etc because of who we are playing this week.

Well done to everyone who got a ST, as I said a while back I got my first ever one and persuaded my mate to get his on saturday. Bring on the season.

After much changing my mind, I gave in today and phoned up to sort out my season ticket, only to be told that...

a) I had to pay full price.... although I have not seen anywhere that STH's had until August 1st to take advantage of the lower fee, only that they had until then to secure their seats ( maybe they should have been a bit clearer??? )

b) The 'installment' option does not start from when you buy, if you buy now, they want £140 upfront instead of the usual £70ish

I doubt I am the only STH that is going to phone up this week to renew and be shocked at being asked to purchase a 'new' ST, anyway, in short, because my work means that I cannot attend about 40% of games, I didn't buy one, instead will pay as I go.

Sorry Stu, it's not the club's fault. It has been on the OS that discounted renewals would end after Friday 31st and the general sale would begin on Sat 1st. I had been hanging on until Sat in the hope that there might be a better choice of seats by anyone not renewing. As late as Friday the club published that renewals would be accepted on Saturday, but not guarantee-ing the same seat.

Since the ST prices were announced its been pretty clear that the renewal price would finish on the 31st July.

Well done to the 11,000!

Are we now a clear (albeit distant) second behind Norwich in the ST ranks? Think we're ahead of Leeds now but not sure about Charlton.

Hopefully for STHs and non-STHs alike, people can get back in the habit of SMS and enjoying a few beers on matchdays again...

Maybe it is just me being a mong, but I still can't find anything that says about the renewal price not being available after the deadline.

Anyway, I will go for a half season ticket at Xmas as I should be back to a 9-5 job then.

I got my new ST today but had to get seat in Kingsland North, the girl in the ticket office said there was nothing left in the Northam.

Does that mean there is a limit to the number of STs in each stand? I've already got tickets for Millwall in block 41.

I don't know, she was checking where was still available but all of of the Northam was blocked out and she said there was nothing left and turned screen around to show me. As far as I knew if people have matchday tickets for the seat you want you can still have it but get tickets for another seat in the meantime.

chavs are not as much a concern as those that will have a 'load' in they're mouths, maybe its something that you'll just have to swallow !
Oh dear my haste has put me in the more again. Lol

Also well done to those who don't live close enough to get an ST but make the journey down from London for about half of the games and still spend £300-odd on tickets alone over the course of the season ;-)

Live tv outside the prem will always be negative to the gate.

If you are a Saints fan you are going to be at the game if its on telly or not!You wouldnt say feck it im going to stay in cos its on the box!

It depends how far you travel to the games? In the SO, SP, BH, RG, GU and PO postcode areas, then I would agree. From further afield, you can't blame people staying at home (or going to the pub) to watch it.

No you missed the point.

Their's plenty of Saints fans who won't go on Saturday when its on tv especially the kick off time and the cost to get in.

It was on the OS, Stu.

But I agree that there should be an arrangement for being able to buy a partial season, especially for those living a long distance away or not able to get to evening matches.

I had the same dilemma, but eventually got one, early when it was cheaper.

The price is the same,tv or not,so if you cant afford it thats it!Just an easy option to sit on your arse rather than get up and go!

Indeed, it takes me around 10 hours by tube and coach to get to Southampton and back and costs around £50 or so give or take. If I lived locally I would do as I always did and buy a ST, something I continued to do for over 10 years after moving to London in 1980. But in all honesty I'd have to be barking mad to leave home at about 7am tomorrow when I can relax at home and watch the game at no extra cost !

80 miles - in ten hours?

He did actually mention "There and back" and used coach travel-not high speed/cost train.:)

Thank you, you are spot on. And it's about 100 miles even by car but travelling into Victoria for the coach makes it even further. Waterloo is no better and granted I'd save a bit of time by rail but would make it even more expensive.

Are you a member of Colslaw? Don't they arrange travel/car share etc. from Watford?

Does that mean that every single seat in the northam is now owned by a ST?

Skates claiming to have managed 12,500 for the premiership - pity we couldn't beat that for 3rd tier but not far off!

Wonder what our up to date total is?

http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=7772&posts=9

so they are saying they had 16k sales of s/ts when Ho said it was 13.5k. If they had 16k then there surely would not be any pay on the day tickets.

I was told that they had only just touched 9k a week ago, and another poster had put up that they had a 35% drop in ticket sales. There again if PS sqys its true its true

20,000 + , bloody great turn out, let's hope we keep it up and make St Marys a shining light in League 1!!!!

2000 Millwall according to OS

We need 20k Saints fans

Just been to SMS to buy my tickets for Brum and while I was there someone at the next window to me bought 2 Season Tickets, so the total is still creeping up. Be interesting to know where the total currently stands.
