League Champions?

:smt026 I am going to cut my own throat, I have just checked my betting slip, and I picked the fenians instead of Rangers. I think I'm going to be sick.

Will I get anything back Kiptanakupah if i have it each way.

In this case does it actually matter?

You did 2 bets. A win accum and an E/W accum. You couldn't do E/W on the Scottish Prem so that wasn't part of the E/W accum.

As WBA screwed up the win part of the accum then surely it didn't matter who the hell won the Scottish Prem - the bet was down regardless.

You get paid on 4 team E/W accum:

21/10, 11/2, 6/1, 11/2

At 1/4 the odds a place that will pay about 10/1. Better than a kick in the shucks.

I could be speaking sh*t here but that's the way I see it. Let me know what actually happens. I'd be interested to hear...

In hindsight you will be very thankful that your judgement of Newcastle's chances were very wrong. If WBA had won the league then your choosing of Celtic instead of Rangers would have cost you a small fortune!

Thanks for the info Rut, but by doing it each way meant my team had to finish 1st or 2nd in the prem, 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the championship, league 1 and league 2, and I think 1st place in the scottish prem.

So say Celtic were 2/1 and you included them in an E/W accum. They win. You'd then get that 2/1 in the win part of your accum AND the E/W part of it?

Fair enough - didn't know that. Still doesn't seem quite right but if that is the way it works - then that is the way it works....

When you find out for sure can you let us know. Cheers.

Gutted. That sucks. I guess the lesson to learn here is not to put a 'win only' into an E/W accum. Hindsight is great though ain't it...

Bets you thought you'd won but you didn't...

I remember I used to do E/W accums on the horses. Finally one came in (all got a place). I'd worked it out that I'd win a couple of grand - result!!!

Got about a tenner or whatever. Not such a result.

I thought that you took what a win accum would pay and get ie a quarter of that. Not that you just get a quarter of the odds on each race. Trust me - this makes a big difference to the pay out!

You live and learn... I've rarely bothered with E/W since.

Dog - you need to start a 'League Winners 2010/2011' thread nearer the start of the season. A few of us will follow your tips (bar the Scottish Prem of course).
