They beat Brentford 2-1, who are currently 'top' of league 1 while we are statistically bottom.

So this is a more realistic pre-season match than others, in fact. I hope we do not under-estimate them.

Can't see Saga playing for us again - Rasiak was superb yesterday, maybe he will stay?

I reckon this is a reserve fixture, but with a few players who will need to convince AP they have a part to play next season plus maybe a trialist or two? I think the QPR game is going to give a better idea of the first XI for next season (apart from signings)

Went last year, absolute nightmare to get to from the station.

Wont be going tonight.

it's a 20 min walk from the station. Almost as far as the walk from Southampton Central to SMS.

Nightmare....

I've got a feeling it'll be largely a 'first team' turn out. We're in need of match fitness / awareness and the fact that this fixture would seem to have been arranged at short notice since Pardew's arrival suggests to me that he wants to see his first choice in action as much as possible in the short time he has to instill his ethos in the players.

I could be completely wrong of course! Anyway, will be popping along to find out.

Will post pictures of anyone doing a C3PO impression tomorrow...(assuming I survive the trek to and from the station of course... ;) )

Book a B&B situated about 10 mins into the journey just in case.

A B&B in Farnborough? You gotta be kidding....;)

I'm intending to drive up from Somerset this afternoon. I'll go via the station to the ground. If I see a body suffering from exhaustion I'll wave. :p

Hi guys,

Here is some information for you ahead of the friendly between Boro and yourselves tonight

Prices are £7 for adults, £5 for concessions, and just £1 for under 16s.

The gates at Cherrywood Road are open from 5.30pm, with access to the main 'Dugout' bar open to all. The Dugout is open all day, serving food and drinks.

If you want to watch the game in a little bit more style and comfort, entrance to our Platinum Lounge is £20. The Platinum Lounge is open from 5pm and this entitles you a two-course meal prior to the game, access to the Platinum Lounge bar before, during and after the game, as well as prime seats in the middle of the main stand. Dress code is collar and tie. There are limted numbers for the Platinum Lounge, so if you are interested then drop me an email as soon as possible.

There is limited parking in the club car park, so arrive early to ensure a space, although the nearby Farnborough 6th Form College, five minutes walk from the ground, will also be open for parking if required.

It would be great to see as many of you as possible at Cherrywood Road, and if you haven't been to the ground for a while I'm sure you will be impressed with it's transformation over the last two seasons.

Feel free to drop me an email if you need any more information, or check out our website http://www.farnboroughfc.co.uk

Very helpful, thank you.

I am looking forward to similar advice and welcome from the Millwall Comms officer for our away trip there this year.

Anyone got any team news for tonight? FarnboroughFC, what sort of side are you going to be putting out too? I'm at the college just up the road so this is your chance to persuade me to leave this sorry lot and support you! :D

It doesn't say Saints XI on the site, so hopefully we'll see quite a few first teamers running out there. For those worried about the walk, it's not that long really, about 20 minutes at most.

Cheers for info chris. Will be going with my 9 year old. Can I take him in the dugout bar area with me? Thanks

Good to see White in the squad - from what I've seen of him he looks a good player but has had a dreadful time with injuries.

I would agree with that - one of the more naturally gifted players to come through our ranks in recent years but those injuries really haven't helped. He seems a determined little bugger though, so hopefully he will take his chance to impress when he can.

Greetings from a sunny Cherrywood Road. I see Liebherr hasn't got around to buying a posh bus for the team yet. I had posher coaches on my school trips to marwell zoo. Fact

Can we expect ball by ball updates during the game Trousers?

Who is Ryan Tafazolli, I see he's in the squad tonight?

He's a very tall CB who I've seen a couple of times at youth/reserve level. Very strong, composed and a good touch. Looked very slow though otherwise I think he'd be giving Lancashire a run for his money for the bench CB spot.

Yup...exclusive updates over on the match update thread now

I checked for a match day thread seconds before I look at this thread! You mean you can monitor two threads at a time and start a "Match updates" thread on a mobile quicker than I can reply to you on a PC.

Impressed. I'll check out the other thread.
